Alamo Eye Care — Local services in San Antonio

It is simply not possible to get worse service that you will get here -- stay away. I have had the door closed in my face when I got there 5 minutes before they closed for lunch (who still does that?), I have been told so many lies it is to get sick of (glasses shipped and will be there in 2 days multiple, multiple times), will have you sit on the phone forever while somebody talks to the dr, the lab having insurance issues (how on God's green earth, it is United Healthcare) and so forth. It is now been 28 days and I still don't have glasses even though they have been paid by me on the day of service and by the insurance a long time ago. Stay away, just stay away.

Update. After making a big noise when my glasses were not delivered after almost 5 weeks, all of a sudden two days later it showed up. I am yet to meet somebody as rude in a professional services office setting as I saw today -- dropped the glasses on the counter with a 'there is your glasses', turned around and started walking away. No fitting, no checking if adjustments are needed, nothing. Also said that these glasses do not come with a little case and a polishing rag. In the more than 60 years that I have been wering glasses, this was the first time I encountered this. The juvenile pettiness is...

Update: 3/18/22 Before I talk about today’s visit, I would like to express my gratitude to Dr. Frogozo and her staff for something that happened a few months ago: she saved the vision in my left eye.

During an exam Dr. Frogozo saw something she didn’t like. She called Dr. Lane (IMHO, the best eye surgeon in town) and maybe sixty minutes later, I was across town being examined by Dr. Lane. Surgery was immediately scheduled.

Today, the vision in my left eye is awesome!

Dr. Frogozo is the best!

Regarding today’s experience: Same as always! Professional, personal, and thorough. I cannot say how happy and grateful I am for the great people at Alamo Eye Care!

I am so thrilled with Dr. Frogozo and the staff at Alamo Eye Care. They are committed to understanding the needs of their clients and putting in the time necessary to make sure everyone is on the same page.

From beginning to end, my appointment was phenomenal. Everyone was extremely friendly, check-in was fast, our wait time was not long at all (and I was quite early to my appointment), and the care and PATIENCE they showed my children and I were beyond words. Dr. Mac was so kind and super knowledgeable about the whys and hows of the eyes. It is so rare when a doctor takes the time to explain things in depth to better help the patient understand their specific issues and the best solutions for them. I totally forgot the sweet tech lady's name, but she was incredibly helpful with my little ones and so very gentle! There was another lady who noticed I was having a difficult time with my son. She came over and offered stickers to help out. That was so thoughtful of her! It was just the little things throughout my appointment that really made a difference. I chose Alamo Eye Care based off of the reviews because everyone had such exceptional things to say about them and not a single lie was told. It would be such a loss to go anywhere other than Alamo for your eye care needs. I cannot thank you all enough for today's appointment!
