I am on the fence about what was my go to seafood spot. When I am in the mood for seafood, and that almost every day, but really when I want to pig out , and don’t have to worry about the wait staff counting how many times you go stuff your face, Kumi is the place. A friend and I chose to eat dinner there because it would be there first time there. When we arrived the greeting was friendly as always, but that food was awful. The fried blue crabs looked as though they had created a oil bath, but I piked them , the crab legs were so overcooked that they were like a rubber, you didn’t need the shell cracker to try get the meat out because it wasn’t bulging. We shared our concerns with our server and he got the manager to come over, we expressed the concern she agreed that there were complaints about the crab legs throughout the day, so she went back to the kitchen and they cooked a fresh batch of both, she came to the table and shared with us that both items were on the bar, well of course by the time I got up there, they would be almost gone. Fixed plates again, same thing, blue crabs fried in oil bath, crab legs awful, manager came back over, expressed her frustration with the kitchen as well, but had the nerve to say we take $3.00 off the billed, I was in disbelief, an almost $70 meal and we waited forever when we first got there, and the food was awful, well that was an insult and I was totally embarrassed because I boast about that place. The only reason I gave a 5 for service because our server was wonderful. For now I am on the lookout for another seafood buffet. I have tried a few here in town, but they couldn’t compare to Kumi, heck last night they out shined Kumi. So Kumi step it up , I love coming there, make sure you keep it consistent, and charge off the bill, because if guests told you all day that the crab legs was awful, well you should have corrected that earlier, or just took them off the menu. I am not here to write a terrible post but the need to...
Read moreNot impressed at all. Don’t understand the 5 star rave reviews at all. First off you don’t pay first so you never know the price until get the check as well as is a dumb move anyways on their part as people could easily walk out on it. Especially one a weekend when very busy and severs aren’t paying attention. No stir fry bar. The steak was rubbery and no flavor. We go to quite a few Chinese buffets and always have the seafood salad on the salad bar which this one did but was by far worst had even tasted and probably know why know has got very sick the next day. Sushi was not always fresh they didn’t change out ones that had been sitting there for too long. Thankfully noticed that some didn’t look fresh so didn’t risk those. Chicken for the lemon chicken and sweet and sour was just seasoned chicken tenders that were so dry couldn’t even stomach after one bite and don’t know what was wrong with lemon sauce but no! No pepper steak or mushrooms. Everything was dry and overcooked. Didn’t even risk the crab legs due to kids touching with living fingers and then touching them again. Dessert bar again all cakes, Bundt cake , cinnamon bread was dry. Only thing that as really good was the carrot cake of which we asked if could pay extra to take a slice or two home and was told no. For $28.99 a person no way wil not be back. I was shocked when cut our bill and was $62 for just two of us and just had water. Which our waitress did make sure to take plates and get refills. She was the only good thing. Feel there should be a dress code there as won’t even get into that gross! Will continue to stick with Lin’s they are always amazing and fresh! Oh did I mention no...
Read moreI visited Kumi for lunch and dinner on 3 separate occasions. The seating is super crowded. It’s like they squeezed in as many tables as possible on their floor space. When people are seated at tables together, you cannot walk through. It’s like a maze to try to find a way out. They also have booth seating which seemed nicer and didn’t need to worry about people trying to get through behind your chair.. The food was good. They had the standard Chinese buffet foods you normally see at other restaurants such as beef w/ broccoli, sesame chicken, general tso chicken, cheese rangoons, egg rolls, rice, noodles, hot and sour soup, wonton soup, egg drop soup, miso soup, etc. But the difference is the number of seafood items. They had a lot of shrimp dishes and cold snow crab legs. The steam crab legs are not offered during lunch. There is a ramen and grill area where they will cook to order. They have different types of sushi and can also make sushi to order. It is not quiet for an intimate setting, but no buffet restaurants are quiet that I’ve experienced. It was very clean and the restrooms were very clean. If you’re hungry for shrimp and crab legs, this is the place to go! Where else can you eat unlimited crab legs for lunch? During lunch, the parking lot was surprisingly almost full in the front and sides but I was lucky enough to find a spot in the front. Weekends is a little more difficult to park and the restaurant was full and kind of noisy but that’s to be expected for the amount of people. They offer military discount. Lunch was $20 and dinner was $30. Drinks are not included in the...
