Moses Jewelers — Local services in San Antonio

I truly wish I didn’t have to write this review. I worked primarily with Guillermo at the Culebra location of Moses Jewelers to design a custom wedding ring. I placed an $800 deposit and was told the ring would be ready by a specific date. That date came and went—and this happened five more times. Each time, I rearranged my schedule and took time off work based on promises they gave me. Each time, I was left disappointed. Not once did I receive a proactive update. I had to chase them down for every detail, often going into the store in person just to get an answer.

The Stone Oak location was responsible for actually making the ring. The day before my wedding, I still didn’t have the ring. When I called to ask about a refund or any possible solutions, I was verbally attacked by Saul Torres, the jeweler at Stone Oak. He yelled at me, cussing me out using the F-word at least 10–15 times, and then hung up on me. I was completely stunned. I remained calm and respectful—I just wanted to know if there was anything that could be done.

In the weeks after my wedding, I kept returning to the store for updates. Again, I was overpromised and repeatedly let down. Today, I finally received the ring and they gave me $200 off “for the inconvenience.” That barely begins to cover the stress, time, and emotional toll. The only reason I followed through was because they refused to issue a full refund.

This entire experience was stressful, frustrating, and completely at odds with what a wedding ring purchase should be. I have screenshots and text messages to back all of this up. I gave this business multiple chances. In return, I was misled, ignored, and—in one case—yelled at and hung up on.

I could not recommend Moses and his team enough! My (now) fiancé and I went to see him initially to get an idea of what we liked. Not long after, my fiancé began planning and designing my engagement ring with Moses. Once my fiancé proposed with the most gorgeous ring I have ever laid eyes on, I realized it was a little too big. We brought it in, and less than 24 hours later, Moses and his team had resized it and it was ready to go!

I am still in awe of how comfortable this piece is and how much thought went into it. From making sure it wouldn't catch on my hair and clothing to making sure it was as low as possible while still allowing a wedding band (which we will also have designed with Moses!!) to sit flush against it. When I first wanted a I get a custom engagement ring made, I went to Americus Diamond. I wasn’t even in the store for 3 minutes because they told me, what I wanted, couldn’t be done. No negotiation, no attempt to offer me something else, just no. After a quick google search for a custom jeweler, I found Moses Jewelers and drove there. I was greeted by Ryzan and was told that what I wanted, could absolutely be done. I had a vision of what I wanted in my head and with her expertise, came up with the most beautiful design I have ever seen on an engagement ring.
