Went on a Sunday during lunch. First time eating Detroit style pizza. Place was started up in Austin from what the waiter explained. Portions are good. A small Detroit style with feed two people or 1 really hungry person. The simplest way I can describe the pizza is fluffy bread, like eating cheesy bread sticks with toppings on top. I love cheesy bread sticks and lots of marinara. There is also "regular" pizza or thin crust. There are also dietary options like dairy free cheese and gluten-free crust. We tried a few items. Hibiscus margarita - It's hard to find a hibiscus drink that does not taste medicinal. This one tasted medicinal, but it was expected. Meatballs App - 3 big meatballs with some crispy slices of bread. The bread was crumbling and crouton like. To be honest, bread was not good. I was expecting some warm restaurant made pieces. I put some marinara on a piece, and when I took a bite, crumbles and marinara fell all over me. Meatballs and marinara are good though. Broccoli and Cauliflower App - was good. Warm veggie side. Small Detroit 4 cheese with pepperoni - I really liked it as a change to "regular" style. The small pizza comes with 4 squares, which I made it through 2 and ate the other 2 for dinner. Lots of cheese. It overflows once you pull your first piece. I also like the crispy edges! Small Detroit carnivore on gluten-free bread - Hubby ordered the gluten-free crust. The only difference between the crusts that I could see was that the gluten-free crust was slightly less fluffy. If no one would call it out, most wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The manager even came up to us and relayed the kitchen, made his with the wrong crust, and apologized while they made his gluten-free one. They also boxed up the wrong one and gave it to us. They brought out a side of Mike's hot honey, which was interesting and tasty. If you'd like to add sweet and spicy to your pizza, try it out! Cinnamon dessert gluten-free - For the mix-up, the manager also brought us out a complimentary dessert. It was delicious! We will definitely go back. Overall, our waiter and all staff were very pleasant, and...
Read more(Party of 5) Let's see where to begin. We are now local to San Antonio, but we fortunate to have our Daughter and Boyfriend visiting. So, for their first night we decided to take them to what we had considered to be our favorite Pizza joint in town. Our wait was minimal, 15 min, which told me they were not over the top busy. Upon being seated we were shortly greeted by our Server Isis. She took our drink orders and returned within a reasonable time. We then placed our food order. My wife and I ordered the Carnivore and a large Antipasto salad, cheese bread and a small Caesar salad that we were going to share with our 10 year old. My Daughter ordered the Pepperoni Pizza and added Jalapenos with 2 sides of ranch for which Isis said she had to let her know was extra. No problem. Well, we waited for about 20-25 min, when the pepperoni pizza arrived along with the salads. Isis then shared that the cheese bread would be right out. It wasn't for about another 10min. that the appetizer cheese bread showed up. It was then that I asked the server, after 30 or so minutes when i asked if she knew where our order was. My Daughter and Boyfriend were almost done. Her response, " I am not sure. I'm gong to say that maybe the kitchen is backed up". She then asked me if I wanted to speak to a Manager, for which I replied, yes. After waiting another 10min and still no food, the manager came to the table. I explained the situation and advised that pizzas typically don't come out at the same time and he doesn't know why the cheese bread took so long. In the midst of this conversation I shared that the restaurant wasn't even busy, for which he responded, we have a lot of to go orders. I wonder how people get their take out orders if pizzas doesn't come out at the same time. Nonetheless, the Manager offered to take the cheese bread off our ticket. Sadly enough we didn't eat any pizza and we ended up picking up Whataburger.
This was a horrible visit, with poor service and even worse management,. No accountability and nothing...
Read moreThis place is terrible. At home, I got a notification that my food was ready from a to go order. I drive to the location. I arrive to no one at the host stand but a to go line wrapped around the corner. After waiting 45 minutes for my food in line watching delivery drivers cut in line to get food laughing at the customers, employees stand around and laugh, multiple employees helping a single customer, employees on their phone, employees laughing and high fiving, instead of both lines operating and then employees disappear from the cash registers completely helping no one at all, I get to the front! Excited for my food, finally I am told that my food is not even ready yet, and hasnt even been made. Don't waste your time with this location if you want food in a timely manner or good service when told it's ready. I asked the hostess why it's like this and she stated "we have been having problems with to go orders, I can't do anything". I'd love to tell you whether the food was good or bad, but I can't, because I left after almost an hour trying to get food and it was not even being made. The staff is all younger, inexperienced, socially awkward clerks and its painful to watch. I did see a managerial type of person in a red and white flowered shirt that was nice but he would come to the register and double help a single customer and then leave. He was hustling. Employees would come to the counter with an order and a receipt and yell out people's names that weren't even there, then leave and not seen again. This must be a crazy stressful busy location. After I left, I tried to cancel my order but I can't because it has been marked "ready" by the system, and went elsewhere for pizza since I couldn't even get to anyone to cancel my order. You should...
