So upon arrival to this establishment l I saw that there was available parking as well as parking for the handicap as well. This popshelf is in an old Walgreens so the space is perfect for what they have. As soon as you walk in it is beautifully decorated with items from the store. If I had to describe it, because pop shelf is new here in San Antonio, I would say it's like a five below but better. They had a variety of items and seem very stocked. Before I attended this location I went to the website to see what kind of items they had in stock. I wanted to see if I could possibly purchase the items beforehand and maybe do a pickup. Everything on the website kept saying out of stock which made me a bit nervous because I knew the grand opening was yesterday but I decided to drive and check it out anyways because I know due to covet a lot of websites are not up to date. Everything was going fine until we got to the point that it was time to check out. Again we do not have pop shelf here in San Antonio and wasn't sure about how to check out. We saw a worker checking out a woman at a register and someone waiting behind her so we jumped behind them. I was there with my mother and I noticed that one of the registers said check out so I decided to do the self checkout for my items. My mom stayed in line because she's much older and honestly prefers checking out with a person then doing a self-checkout. The lady at the register looked at the woman in front of my mom, and my mom and said it's self checkout so you can go to any register. The woman in front of my mom went to a register and my mom responded with what if you don't know how to use self checkout? The lady at the register smirked and continued helping the lady she had at her register. Then as soon as she was done with that customer she walked away from the register, not even acknowledging my mom or even answering her question. My mom responded with well that was rude and said a curse word. The lady then turned around and told my mom she needed to leave. I was still checking out my items when all of this was happening. Not once did the employee attempt to de-escalate the situation or explain to my mom how the checkout registers work. Which makes me question if there are elderly people there who are not used to self checkouts what do they do then? The employee immediately told my mother she was going to call the cops and this is when the manager comes up to speak to my mother. Though he was very apologetic my mother was clearly upset and didn't even want to check out her items now and was waiting for me to finish checking out my items. I was very disappointed and hurt by the employees rudeness to my mother that canceled my order and wanted to leave as well. While I do understand that my mom using profanity was wrong, had the employee taking the time to explain how their checkout system works it could have been easily avoided. I gave this place two stars for the the customer service that we received and had that not happen I would have...
Read moreThis is for the manager name Andrew . My mother had her items ready to self checkout when she asked for assistance from a lovely cashier. although she did have her credit card the balance wasn’t a lot so she decided to pay with her coins . The cashier much obliged in helping her count her coins to meet her total . He decided to interrupt and embarrass my mother about paying with coins . And that they don’t accept coins . Last time i checked coins were part of our national currency and is accepted everywhere . Especially now with a coin shortage . He proceeded to be rude and berate my mother that even the cashier was uncomfortable. The store employees did in fact let us know he is bilingual but doesn’t allow or like for them to be bilingual with their customers as well as allow public bathrooms . My mother and I have kidney and bladder disabilities so this is a lawsuit waiting to happened . Corporate mentions that there is public bathrooms available . This store refuses them to public at the discretion of this manager . Aside from him being racist , he has made the store inaccessible for anybody with disabilities or a handicap . There is a slew of issues we experienced with this particular visit . I hope this is addressed properly with this manager . Very unfortunate . Will not...
Read moreI am very disappointed with this Popshelf on Thousand Oaks SA, TX 78217. I ordered some balloons from them. I told them when I wanted them to be ready. They were not ready, and when the clerks were attempting to blow them up, I had to correct them on the string color and hardly filling them up, and I had pre-ordered what I wanted, and of course they didn't get that correct. Then when I asked to speak to the manager, she gave me this matter fact tone with an accuse that they had a lot balloon orders. Then when I get to my destination the balloons were not securely strapped onto the strings, and the balloons flew away. I tried to call the store but the phone had a busy signal for and hour. First I didn't appreciate the manager giving me the customer a lame accuse why my paid order was not completed at the time it was guaranteed by my payment. I know this Popshelf is not located in one of the best parts of SA, but the money spent at this location is just as green as the Popshelf in Stone Oak or some other Popshelf that's in SA. I won't be back to this Popshelf, and I'm going to make sure that I use my word of mouth for how I was treated. Extremely disappointed. ...
