Our waiter was good and attentive. He was the only server, though, and had at least 10 tables at once while we were there. There was a water person who floated and disappeared. We had to flag her down for water. She was not very observant.
We drove a long way because I have been on the hunt for homemade cannelloni the way that my husband likes. He lived in Italy for a while. He appreciated that they were willing to swap alfredo sauce for sugarosa sauce, but it was not all that close to what he was used to from the region he lived in. My son got salmon and it was mostly good, had a tasty white wine sauce, but the good cut of fish was overcooked. I got eggplant parm. The eggplant was tough but with a lot of really mushy breading or coating with burnt cheese on top. The sauce on the parm and spaghetti was not like any I have had before on eggplant parm. It was really quite sweet- not like a tomato paste sweet, but like it had added sugar. It was just not good at all.
The Arancini was not very good and although it says Vegetarian on their Google Menu of food, it had meat inside. The meateaters at the table didn't care for it.
The bread served at seating was delicious and the best thing about the meal. The oil was light and fresh tasting.
I know that "authentic" Italian food means many different things depending on the region and I have only travelled a limited amount in Italy, but this food did not appeal to either my American Italian food palate or my travel driven authentic palate. The waiter was kind and inquired about uneaten food, but we won't be returning. I wish them success. There were many other people there, so the cuisine that they serve is certainly appealing to...

I had the pleasure of dining at Scisciano Italia, the cozy Italian restaurant in town, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! From the warm ambiance to the exceptional service, every aspect of my visit was top-notch.
The food, oh the food! Each dish was a masterclass in Italian cuisine. We started with the Bread and oil, which was bursting with fresh flavors. The ordered Chicken Arrabbiata, a spicy and savory dish that will leave you craving for more. Tender and juicy chicken breast, cooked to perfection and tossed in a rich and aromatic arrabbiata sauce, made with crushed tomatoes, garlic, red pepper flakes, and fresh basil. The spicy kick from the red pepper flakes is balanced by the subtle sweetness of the tomatoes, creating a harmonious and addictive flavor profile. Served with a side of al dente pasta. And the Tiramisù, which translates to "pick-me-up" in Italian, is a decadent and creamy dessert that will lift your spirits and satisfy your sweet tooth. This beloved Italian treat consists of ladyfingers soaked in rich espresso and liqueur, layered with a velvety mascarpone cheese mixture, and dusted with cocoa powder.
The service was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. My server, was happy to answer my questions about the menu but he wasn't 100% sure as he was new. But he was very attentive as well as the restvof the staff.
Overall, Scisciano Italia is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Italian cuisine. I can't wait to return and explore more of the menu!

Read moreThe Spinach cannelloni was excellent and arrived piping hot. Nice amount of white sauce and baked cheese. My husband’s chicken parm was moist and well seasoned. Nice, thick chicken breast Breading and seasoning was on point. The server was attentive, polite, and since they had just changed, she was still getting familiarized with it. Bread knots were delicious and the perfect size. We had the Minestrone soup which was very flavorful, hearty, unique. We loved it! We shared a slice of the Italian creme cake which was decadent and lovely. Our disappointment was with the $5 side of meat sauce and the angel hair pasta served with Parm. Both were luke warm. I sent the sauce back, and received another, which was warmer, but this time no sauce just meat. My husband didn’t send it back, he said he would take it home and reheat. Only the pasta under the parm was hot. There was only one other couple in there, so not busy. Food should never be sent out lukewarm. The pasta my husband had was cooler on the outer edge. The woman that brought the sauce out to me didn’t seem bothered that the sauce was sent out not to temperature. How can a side of sauce and angel hair go out cold? She made a comment about having several people in the back. Not sure if she was the owner or manager. Not very friendly. I think that ruined it for us. With so many other small elevated Italian restaurants that we frequent, and they get to know you, acknowledge you, or come by…and take pride in every little thing they serve. We’ll see if we go back, we really try to support local small restaurants...
