Given United’s effort to be a customer friendly airline, I was stunned by the rudeness of 3 staff members today at the United Club Concourse C at IAH. My flight had been delayed so we arrived at IAH after our connection flight was already gone. After the long haul since 5 in the morning, I stepped in the club to quickly get a new connection. First, the lady wouldn’t help, which, of course, is no surprise. Exhausted, I sat down briefly in a chair at a completely empty table for four that is just at the entrance even before the line to check in to the club because it was noisy outside. There I called United to acquire a new flight. Besides having to wait on hold (another story reminiscent of the 1970s), three very rude attendants came to tell me to leave now because I hadn’t signed in. They rudely interrupted my call with United telling me to leave. I am elderly but a well kempt and and well mannered highly accomplished professional who was clearly stressed by the logistical quagmire caused by the delay of my arrival (weather). I was treated like a derelict by these three people who were only keen to interrupt my call and throw me out. I was not in anyone’s way and just at the entrance. Their rude behavior could be in line with their educational level and probably reflects a lousy culture propagated by their manager. This is clearly not the image Inited is trying to portray. They could have just let me finish the call or they could have just fixed the ticket themselves and saved all of us from the hassle. But no… they need remedial training and the system there needs to be redesigned so that distress isn’t met with abuse. ...
Read moreI've been to United Clubs from SFO to DEN to LGA and my experience here at the San Antonio location has been the worst. The staff here don't seem to care about the customer!
I was sitting, minding my own business when these people just came in and started taking art off the wall INCHES from my head not even communicating to me what what going on.
I would have been happy to move had the staff just talked to me and that is why I give this United Club location 1 star. The lack of courtesy to just talk to me shows me I'm not valued as a customer. Having large paintings flying over my head really scared me and it all could have been avoided had simple basic communication been used.
I will never return to this...
Read moreSmall cozy place to get away from the airport noise. It's the only lounge in SAT other than the military-only USO lounge.
Restrooms are outside the lounge. Terminals A and B don't connect so you'll have to reenter security if you have a flight in Terminal B. That will change in November 2019 when you'll need a United boarding pass to enter here.
No showers. No conference rooms. Pretty basic.
Light snacks and beverages provided. Check photos of the menu for included alcohol and drinks. Premium spirits and wine are not free.
Bottom line: I used a one time pass. I wouldn't pay $60...
