I would like someone to know here at the Merit coffee shop here at the airport, how wonderful these girls are here in the evening. I fly frequently in and out of San Antonio and I ALWAYS stop by Merit coffee. Yesterday, while waiting for for my usual latte with almond milk I witnessed a horrific interaction between the barista and a customer. The customer was leaning over their work space and berating the barista for not moving fast enough. She demanded 3 different cups of ice, milk and extra shots of espresso all while the barista was hard at work making a slew of other drinks. The poor barista was in tears while the customer was so demanding and yelling at her. Another sweet worker came along and tried to appease the horrible guest to which the women threw a cups of ice at her. It breaks my heart to see these ladies so hard at work all while having to endure the horrific and terrible treatment of entitled customers. The customer is NOT always right and should not be allowed to treat workers with such utter disrespect.

There is no other place to buy an espresso in this area of the airport. Perhaps everyone here drinks coffee with milk and sugar to cover the horrid taste. Too bad for SA airport. Ordered an almond croissant. Tasted like it was a week old. Stale. $11.45 for this disaster. While other airports are incorporating better coffee options, this airport has chosen to limit travelers to one which does not Merit mention. My recommendation, scour the airport; perhaps there is a Costa machine, a Lavazza cafe hidden somewhere, or simply wait until your next...
Read moreI like merit coffee but I just received some of the worst service at the airport merit location. I’m so disappointed by the way the attendant handled my transaction she was very rude. People joke TSA had attitude but that lady ruined my coffee experience. However, the barista Chelly who made my drink was nice. Her coworker should take customer service notes from her. UPDATE: emailed Merit and they acknowledge my experience and assured me they’d addressed the issue immediately. The airport location is managed by a third party perhaps maybe a reason why that visit wasn’t the good service I normally receive from other...
