Arrived as civilians to the Visitor Gate with no knowledge of the process to enter the base to visit the museum. Had to wait for a text which once received we entered and were rudely told we had to wait as we had been called "a while ago" even though we entered as soon as the text was received. Staff were not helpful or pleasant to deal with so we left without entering the base or museum.
Edit: We did try to enter through the Main Visitor Center Gate during during operation hours. My wife was born at the base hospital in 1963 and wanted to see some of her history, but said it was not worth it if we had to be treated as we were by the staff. I doubt that we will ever return to San Antonio again, so she missed an opportunity. The staff at the gate were rude and not at all helpful to people that were easily identified...

A lot of great information including some past history on some of the fighter planes used in previous years. The older gentleman in his 90’s was a great addition.
