I have a wide bust line / bodice line / bra cup line, and my breasts are shallow. Because of the wide shape, my breasts may appear shallow, but wearing a B cup fits me much better than an A cupāthe B cup holds everything in place and prevents movement. On the other hand, when I wear an A cup, there's noticeable spillage and an uneven, bulging line under clothes. This is especially true when wearing push-up bras, so I always choose B cups.
However, the staff at this store seemed to lack a proper understanding of bust shape, bra fitting, or bodice line. They insisted, just by visually estimating, that I should buy an A cup. Even after I tried it on and clearly showed how much I was spilling out, they continued to push the A cup on me.
I was trying to purchase the B cup that actually fit me, but the two staff members were whispering behind my back, questioning why I would want a B cup when I was "obviously" an A. One of them even told me to order the A cup online, which I reluctantly did. As expected, the A cup didnāt fit at allāI had significant spillage.
Eventually, I had to go back to the store to return it. It was a frustrating experience.
What bothered me the most was not their attitudeāit was that, despite working in a lingerie store, they didnāt seem to understand the basics of how to properly fit a bra. They didnāt know (or failed to apply) the proper fitting technique: bending forward, scooping from the back and underarms, and properly positioning the breast tissue into the cups. If they had known and respected that process, I wouldn't have had to go through all this trouble.
They were polite, yes, but their lack of professional knowledge was very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me start by saying I absolutely do not trust being measured or the opinions of ābra expertsā in most bra stores because my experience has always been poor. Iām very aware by the interactions that my āexpertā is not an expert, seems to know little about the bra and how it affects my day to day experiences AND just throws out recommendations based on best sellersā¦not MY body/chest type.
With that being said, I have been trying to correct spillage and I took a chance while in the store and asked for help.
ELAINA is officially the Queen of Bras in my mind and no one can tell me different. She took one look at the bra I tried on and came back with multiple options, told me what to expect, how it should feelā¦oh and that I needed to go up a cup size (which I didnāt believe until I tried her recommendations.)
I really wish I found her YEARS ago. Truly.
I came back today for a strapless becauseā¦I now only trust Elaina to help me šā¦and BOOMā¦perfect bra on the first try. But get this..she remembered my bra size after over a month and only one encounter. Say whaaat?! #Queenofbras
