Barons Market North Park — Local services in San Diego

I had my initial trip to Barons (North Park) last night. Probably my favorite grocery store ever! My daughter had been there several days ago and was absolutely raving about it, which she rarely does about anything. Her excitement was contagious and I got all excited about going there. I had super high expectations and was shocked that they were greatly exceeded. The store is beautiful, very clean, the employees are super nice and go out of their way to aid customers. Not only do they have great produce, meats, etc., but they have the most amazing cheese section that I've ever seen. Cheeses from many nations; I've never been so excited to look through there cheeses. They have excellent Camembert (?) cheese, but better yet they have one with apricots that got me totally addicted from the first bite. You can believe that I'll be going back repeatedly for the apricot cheese. Another bonus was the fact that they have very good espresso beans. I used to get them from Starbuck's but they've not been carrying them for years. So I was thrilled when my daughter brought me some on her prior visit to Barons and I insisted that we get some more last night. Super excellent job, Barons. I couldn't recommend it...

I just came back from shopping at Baron's. I'm going on the Lemonade fast for a planned 2 weeks and needed Maple Syrup and Swiss Kriss. I called ahead of time to make sure they had both and the person answering told me that they have maple syrup. I asked if she had Swiss Kriss and she said, yes, in tablet form. I asked her how sure was she and she said "I'm looking at it." This kind of freaked me out but she said she was at the register directly across from the health supplements. When I got there I asked for the person who had helped me with the Swiss Kriss and she identified herself. Very nice, friendly, etc. I then asked her for a few other items I needed and she walked me around the store helping me find what I was looking for. My point is that the service at Baron's is superb, as has been the case on prior visits as well. It's a very beautiful, super clean store and they have a wonderful selection of so many things from international cheeses to store made artisan bread and on and on. I took Lyft there and back and recommended Baron's most...

Love the variety available here. Great way to stick to a healthy way of living. If getting healthy is your game, look no further.

Bit pricey or I should say, prices seem a bit higher than those at Sprouts. The prices are less than Whole Foods. In fact if Sprouts and Whole Foods were able to procreate, Baron's would be the outcome.

Parking at this location can be tricky. Not much interaction with the staff the day I was there. (Fri afternoon about 2pm or 3pm).

Great, great, great salad bar. So pretty. More ice cream selection than the Point Loma and Alpine locations. Seemed like. Everything super fresh and well organized. Well lit. Aisles flow nicely. Overall great place for a healthy lifestyle.

P.S. I'm sure this tip will sound stupid but Just in case, Baron's weekly ad makes things doable price wise. If you have the time plan out your meals for the week and cross ref with their ad and it will...
