Geraldine, the owner, was super courteous to me and my boyfriend when we visited on a whim. We had never heard of this place before, just happened to pass by. I asked the cashier what was popular and she recommended the iced Strawberry Matcha Latte, among other things. Needless to say, we ordered the statements matcha latte and it was a bit too bitter for us. (Which is pretty unusual, since we normally have to ask for drinks to be less sweet!) Geraldine was more than happy to add sugar, and even asked if there was enough matcha flavoring since she added the sugar. She felt the sugar would overpower the matcha and I agreed. She took it back once more and added more matcha and a little more agave sweetener to the drink, and the end result was PERFECTION. The service we received was excellent and if we ever came back to SD we'd be more than happy to go again. This cute little cafe is also super aesthetically pleasing, major Tumblr vibes. The water cups alone were too cute to not tata a picture of. The only downside is parking, but it's in North Park so it's understandable. I would suggest parking at the nearby CVS (only...
Read moreThis gets two stars only because the decor is adorable and aesthetic other than that my experience was really bad. The workers were very rude, the food and drinks were over priced and tasted bad (the taste is just a preference, if you liked it that’s your opinion). The workers made rude remarks to me and my friends when we ordered. (Story Time here): There was a slab with a single napkin on it. The napkin had a couple of stains over it. I assumed it was trash and ignored it. I walked over to one of the women and politely asked for a napkin. She looked at me and said “It’s right there.” with a rude tone. She was pointing at the singular dirty napkin. I was shocked. I grabbed it, still stunned and started to leave with my friends. I turned as I walked out the door to see her restock the napkin pile with NEW NAPKINS AS I LEFT. It only took her like 10 seconds and I could’ve waited no problem for her to restock it. But she decided to be rude. This was a few weeks back cause I wasn’t sure if I should’ve said something but I thought people should know. I’m not...
Read moreI haven't been here since they first opened! That's me with the pink hair circa 9 years ago. My cousin brought me because we loved the aesthetic and I think this was one of my first experiences with matcha and avocado toast🤌🏻💕 I returned here recently which coincidentally turned out to be their 9 year anniversary of being open! We came to get some cute pix of my grandma for her 95th birthday. My cousin and husband got the horchata matcha, which was really good! Not that I was surprised, but I got a classic strawberry matcha because that's been my jam lately and a concha! Both were delicious! It wasn't as busy as I expected for a Saturday, there was a pop up that day, that had baked goods inside and there were many people using the photo booth. Still love the matcha versatility and still love...
