THIS REVIEW IS A LESS THAN 1 STAR. Plus the reviews that are below is from the old store where they were much better, but now they just dont care about you or the Birds, so sad 😞😟. I have sent many of my Clients to Birdsmart in the past, to the old store. Now proven to be Birdumb because the last Client that I refered, which never had a Bird before, visited the store (they needed a very unique Bird) and I told Lorna 1 hr before my Client got to the store, that I was the Customer and I needed to approve of Any Bird My Client wanted, (Lorns excuse is my Client payed for it, so to bad) so we didn't get what we got, which was a Screaming Bird most of the time. My Client understood No refunds, Store Credit Only. Now Lorna says she would only give My Client a Cockateel a $50. Bird, compaired to a $1,100. Cockatoo. My Cleint was so disappointed she gave Lona the Bird. Then Lorna GAVE, at no charge the $1,100, Bird to her friend because it was uncontrollable, to be in the Store. So we will take Birdsmart to Court, and win. My advice to Anyone that wants to buy a Bird there, is DON'T, that is why they moved to a much smaller location, their Business is way off because they continue to do business like the above. Birds should be Matched to a buyer not just shoved down your throat and not care. All Birdsmart want to do is get money anyway they can, because they will be closing their doors within a year, so no one has Any recourse as they are displaying now, SO BEWARE BIRDSMART HAS TURNED INTO CROOKES AND DOESN'T CARE ABOUT BIRDS THAT IS WHY WE HAVE SO MANY RESCUES... SHAME ON THEM!! ..😓😓.ALSO THEY MAY BE GOOD WITH SMALL BIRDS, JUST NOT BIG BIRDS LIKE MACAWS...
Read moreBuyers Beware! I bought a pink breasted Galah cockatoo from Birdsmart four months ago for over four thousand dollars. It DIED this weekend. Initial results from the necropsy are that she died of Proventricular Dilation Disease. It is a contagious incurable disease that can be spread from fecal-oral contamination or in the air as an aerosol. We never had a bird prior to this nor did we take it anywhere then from Birdsmart home. When I called Birdsmart to discuss this with them, they were rude, put me on hold for over 10 minutes, and then returned to tell me it was a final sale. They did not offer condolences. They said they would not provide a replacement bird nor refund me any of the thousands of dollars I spent purchasing the bird nor the $1,700 I spent trying to save our bird. Instead they told me that it must have been my fault because the birds are checked before they arrive in their store. My best estimate is my bird got sick at Birdsmart. Hindsight is always 20/20 and now it does seem weird that she did not come with any health paperwork or health guarantee. Before anyone decides to spend any amount of money on a bird from this place, know that mine died of a contagious disease. She was there for months before I purchased her. I do not wish the heartache my family has gone through this week on anyone. My daughter has cried every day over the loss of her friend. I asked Birdsmart to have the owner call me to discuss what happened. I have received ZERO return phone calls from them. Shame on...
Read moreThe staff were extremely nice and helpful. Unfortunately I recently got a bird from them a few weeks ago, who while was very sweet - has a stability issue while perching. I asked about her medical history and they said she had already been tested for everything and that she had a clean bill of health and that’s she’s always been like that. I received a few documents from some of the tests they ran on her that came back negative. I took her to the vet and came back with a vet bill of $1250 dollars and find out she has a heart arrhythmia and needs more tests to know the cause of why. Pretty upsetting considering the doctor was able to detect this within minutes of sitting with a stethoscope on her and I feel like if they took her to a vet to be tested this should have already been known. Not only is it upsetting because I want my bird to be happy and healthy, but depending on the causation of this medical condition I don’t know if I can give her the help she needs since the bird alone ran me a few thousand as it was and wasn’t anticipating such a bill so shortly after her. Hoping this is merely a dietary issue. Message- do your research before fully committing so you can assure the pet you are committing to is able to get all the help...
