Starbucks — Restaurant in San Diego

I liked this Starbucks because it is a drive thru & convenient when I'm passing through clairemont. But I'm so unhappy with what happened to me last Saturday (June 24th)! I went though the drivethru & ordered a hot grande vanilla latte (been ordering this same drink for 10+ years my all-time fav). When I got to the window, the woman (sorry can't call her a lady BC she was so rude) takes my card & hands me a ventie drink. I go "oh I'm confused I ordered a grande" she's like "what" I tell her "I ordered a grande not a ventie" she say "so what you don't want to pay the ventie price?". I'm like "well, I ordered a grande not a ventie so yeah I only expected to pay for what I ordered". With a unhappy face she's like "fine give me back your card so I can refund you the ventie & charge you for the grande". I'm not sure if you can get how snarky & rude she was being during this exchange. I see she is mad or in a bad mood & Im actually in a good mood since it was my birthday. I tell her "I'm not trying to be rude but I didn't order a ventie, plus it's my birthday" so just want to have my fav drink. She just glaces at me & looks away, not sure if I saw an eyeroll or just imaged it!! What!! This put such a bad taste in my mouth. So disappointed in this Starbucks. Such rude...

This location was great before the pandemic. Afterwards the staff has been extremely rude and seems to not be bothered with basic customer service. Multiple time I have had all but rude service from the baristas at the bar and lack of knowledge from the register partners. I have witnessed them stand around and not help customers in the store or even cuss openly in front of a customer. As someone who was once a manager for Starbucks back in the day it breaks my heart to see such rude service day in and day out at this location. The attention to detail on their drinks is also lacking. Many a time I have had to have them remake my drink because they did not pay attention to the soy marked on the cup that I paid for and make it regular then act put out when I ask for it to be remade. Not to mention when I ask to have the drink remade the barista sloppily makes it and has it spilling out the cup at the hand off to where I need to go to the condiment bar and wipe off my order, my hands, and usually my outfit by that time. Corporate really needs to revisit this store and evaluate who they have greeting their customers at this location because something needs to be...

This location is always messing up my order. I always order 3 cheese danish warmed up and 1 morning bun as is (not warmed). They always end up warming up my morning bun. When I feel my morning bun warmed when they give it to me I tell them I asked for it as is. They go and try and get one not warmed and come back to tell me that that was the last morning bun. It's ridiculous!! I always tell myself to stop going to this location because they're always messing up my order. It's the closes one to my house.
