Never been in the store, boy do I wish I wasn't thousands of miles away, but I have done the email, chat, and the good old fashioned over the phone thing with this place. WOW! I'm not sure what to say...... I'm sitting here at home, thinking to myself, this has got to be some type of family business, that started with an old man's dream, a small dirt floor shack, and has passed generation to generation. Everyone that I've dealt with has been knowledgeable and polite. Maybe they don't have all the first hand hands on experience with each and every item they stock, but when the answer can't come off the top of their head, they actually take the time to get the answer, and it's not just "some warehouse guy" opinion. I'm time zones away, but nearby a product manufacturer, for products Hardware Source sells. I just don't have the words for how much greater my phone conversation was with the Hardware Source employee, than my walk in face to face with the product manufacturer. The people who represent the manufacturer were oblivious by comparison and of course were only willing to offer biased one sided thoughts. The online chat provided a more personal experience than how I felt leaving the manufacturer, which in my opinion is shameful. I don't know what kind of training goes on at Hardware Source, or perhaps I just so happened to come across only owners or bosses, but they made me feel like a valued customer. I've got honest to goodness hundreds of hours invested in researching the products I recently purchased. I tried to shop local, I've compared products, shopped prices, you name it. Out of frustration I just so happened to stumble upon their site. They weren't even mentioned by the manufacturer, who in all actuality should be promoting the heck out of this place. I'd become familiar enough, you know, know enough to be dangerous, and my initial conversations I brought my challenging A Game, and the responses were all spot on with the functionality of products I was asking about. The prices, well let's just say they were less than half what anyone local, who doesn't have any familiarity or inventory is charging. Yes, there are places claiming no tax, no shipping, and a box of donuts with each purchase....... To be honest, the manufacturer directed me to one online site that had a scam of a physical address, and shipped from the manufacturer, never actually seeing any product. Nope, if you want fast shipping, well packaged, fabulous prices, and customer service, there's no place else to look. Each and every encounter I had, left me feeling that there is tremendous pride in the work done here, even the ability to adjust settings for the website for different conditions is beyond impressive. This store has the formula for what it takes to retain a customer base, in a time where most companies are all about numbers. I don't enjoy feeling like a number, so I will do my best to promote this store, because it deserves way more than the few dollars that I'll occasionally spend here. I avoided saying "treats you like family" because quite frankly, they treated me better than family, I felt like I was truly a friend of the company. And that meant a lot to me, especially being a first time customer. I hope to some day get back to the west coast, and no matter the reason, I pray to remember to stop in and visit. Thank you very much Hardware Source, you are my first choice for cabinetry and fencing...

I am refinishing a 1978 bath vanity. I had extra door pulls from a kitchen remodel and wanted to use the same style. However we have hidden hinges in the kitchen and I was not going to do that much work with refinishing the vanity. I hit up Hardware Source online and was able to determine EXACTLY the type and dimensions for the hinges I needed from their site. (I was at other sites first and became frustrated). I found hinges that would (appear from web photos) come very close to matching the hinges I had so I ordered them up. Hardware Source shipped the SAME day. I thought it was a bit pricey however for ordering in Wednesday they were here on a Saturday. (Oh they are in San Diego and I’m Cape Cod - I don’t think we could be much further away). It was USPS flat rate. Very impressed as the price of shipping was spot on. I ship a lot and use a shipping program with discounts and they charged the discounted price. Bravo. I was searching through your website for a corner cabinet hinge to replace the one that was broken, trying to "match" what I thought would work, when your chat room popped up. I don't usually use this because I haven't really found ones at other sites helpful, but decided to try. Started with Derrick and ended with Jimmy and I have to say I am soooooo impressed with your service. I had to stop a few times to clarify several things, such as measurements, door frame (your diagram was very helpful) and such, but someone remained with me the whole time. They recommended a hinge that they were confident would fit, It arrived in several days and It fit perfect!!!! I thank you 'cause I am the one who looks for and orders on the computer and my husband says a BIG thank you because he is the handyman (most of the time) and the cabinet is actually closing better then how the builder installed it.
