So I came in as a complete novice with a goal of making a great latte at home. Working with Paul was wonderful. He was very responsive to discuss the different types of espresso machines and pros and cons of each (I ended up purchasing a Linea). When delivery came, Mark spent an hour with me setting up the machine, dialing in the grinder/machine so i had a great tasting espresso. This was definitely a great perk as compared to buying online as it saved me hours of online tutorials/ frustration of trying to dial in my beans myself. He spent time teaching me how to use the machine and teaching me brewing and frothing tricks to maximize bean potential through an educational taste testing process. Overall I left feeling i could pilot my new espresso machine and make a pretty awesome tasting latte (my foaming technique still needs a lot of work). He also gave me a very nice tutorial on maintenance and what to look out for when it came to any future servicing. Overall a very pleasant experience and fabulous espresso! thanks all! When our Jura E8 stopped working properly, we attempted to use a firm that had repaired it before on the East Coast. They didn’t respond to multiple requests for assistance. We then searched for a repair facility locally and was pleased to find Espresso Machine Services in San Francisco. The best thing was that they came to the house to perform the repair! Mark, our technician was on time, very respectful of our home, quiet and very professional. He quickly diagnosed the problems with the machine and fixed it with the parts he had in his vehicle. We are very happy with the great work he did. The cost for repair was similar to what we paid for prior repairs and the best thing was that we had the work done in an hour when in the past we had to ship the machine to a repair facility with a two to three week turnaround. I first spoke with Paul to ask whether they might look at my La Marzocco GS3. I expected to get an appointment within two weeks or so. Instead, he asked whether a technician might stop by that afternoon. His colleague Mark arrived two hours later and spent about an hour cleaning the machine and diagnosing the source of the problem I was having with it. It needed a new valve that Mark did not have, so he had La Marzocco express deliver one. Mark returned a few days later, replaced the defective valve, and spent another 30 minutes testing the machine. He was a pleasure to talk with, and Mark volunteered several suggestions about dosing, brewing, and maintenance that had not occurred to me before.
