I had my 16 year chihuahua that was in bad health was attacked by another dog. This dog beat her up bad , she required surgery and at that age that was not going to happen. I called around to see how much it would be to euthanized . I called all the local Vets from Temecula thru Corona area every vet hospital was at max capacity that is ridiculous one clinic in the Murrieta area told me keep eye on her and keep her comfortable, another told me that it would be $207 to euthanize. This accident happen out of no where and the local Vet Hospitals should acknowledge that if some one doesn't have the funds to put their dog down and they truly need it than its inhumane to refuse ,especially if some one can't pay it all out at once. I called around and the prices range from $207-$850 and you have to take the remains home with you. This is not right !! Are all the Vet Clinics going to continue to take advantage of people and blame inflation!!! I just want to warn people out there.!!!! On a positive note I called the 24 hour line for Riverside County Department of Animal Services at 7am on 7-20-24 and the lady inform me that I would be able to bring in my dog at 10am and help would not be refused.I checked in at 11:33am and E. Urbano helped me ,he was very polite and started to ask how he could help me. Explained what happen , Urbano called the Doctor to come over and check my dog. The Doctor checked her out and she approved for her to get Euthanized. I paid $50 for procedure and to disposed remains. The office reacted in a timely fashion and knew the severity of the matter. I have never been to this facility before , but I was really impressed the way everything was handled. The facility was clean and all the staff was very friendly and helpful .This is a difficult time for me and my family as we just lost our dog and Riverside County Dept of Animal Services has made things a little less stressful. Thank you for making it a less...

Extremely disappointed in this facility.

Long story short,

I adopted two dogs that I found from elderly couple that kept losing them because they couldn’t care for them.

They were well taken care of, and up to date on everything!

They were fixed at this facility in December of 2023. The girls incision was infected but healed now, however, she’s been having spotting.

When taking her to the HEMET ANIMAL HOSPITAL I was told that the incision infection is gone, however, the neutering procedure was NOT COMPLETED all the way. Hence poor girl being in ā€œheat cycleā€.

Longevity wise I was informed she will eventually form or have some form of uterus cancer.

To prevent this and resolve this, they mistakenly have their neutering redone, which would be around $800!

Making contact and communicating the issue with a representative I was told that because it was done ā€œpersonallyā€ and because it was out of the 7 day policy, there WAS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE.

I understand the policy, however, the mistake and error was on your part itself.

Who ever ā€œcompletedā€ the procedure should be held accountable since it was done incorrectly and now causing an animal to potentially face something that could have been Prevented if done correctly at the end of the day.

I asked if there was anything the could recommend to help with funds or to point me in the right direction, they informed me because they were a government facility they were not allowed to share information of any sort.

ā€œHi! Your dog is neuteredā€

ā€œOnly she’s not fully neuteredā€

ā€œNow you have to pay again because we didn’t complete the procedure correctly...

This is a sad excuse for a shelter! My dog was stolen last year and I saw someone had turned in a dog that looked just like him!! He had been hit by a car but he still looked like he was ok, honestly I didn't care! I was willing to pay for whatever he needed to heal! I called them as soon as I saw the post and asked them when I could come up there to see him. They told me he's at the vets right now we will let u know. I told them PLEASE DONT EUTHENIZE HIM!! I will pay whatever the cost to help him they said they would let me know. No call! I called again the next day and same answer!! He's at the vets and they will let me know!! I asked for the vets # and they wouldn't give it to me!! I begged them please don't do anything to him!! I want to see him!! They said we will let u know. The 3rd day I was so worried I hadn't received any call but I finally figured out who the vet they used was but when I called them no answer! Then the 4th day I called furious demanding to know where he was. Then I get an email back saying they put him down 2 days ago!! I WAS LIVID!! I TOLD THEM NOT TO DO ANYTHING TO PLEASE LET ME SEE HIM AND I WOULD PAY FOR ANY RX HE NEEDED AND THEY IGNORED ME, LIED TO ME & KILLED HIM ANYWAYS!!! ITS LIKE I LOST HIM 2X!! THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE ANIMALS OR REUNITING THEM WITH THEIR OWNERS!!! THEY ARE AN ANIMAL KILLING FACTORY WITH NO EMPATHY OR SYMPATHY FOR THE ANIMALS ENTRUSTED IN THEIR CARE!! DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE!! NOT UNLESS YOUR OK WITH THEM BEING KILLED!!! CUZ THATS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS TO 95% OF THEM!!! IF U CANT TAKE CARE OF YOUR ANIMAL DONT GET ONE!! BUT WHATEVER U DO DONT...

Toured the Facility with my Daughter on Thursday. The San Jacinto campus is by Far the best animal Shelter I have been to. The pets are well cared for & get ample time to sun bathe. The facility Is clean, bright, with no noticeable odors. There is a cutely decorated board when you walk in the main building that has all the Fur-babies that have been there for longer than 90 days. To help spotlight them & help them find their fur-ever homes. Outside, ā€œworking catsā€ roam the facility & help keep the ecosystem going. You can adopt them as well. There are plenty of grass areas for exercise, special areas where trainers work with dogs, & even a shaded area had a doggy pool set up with toys. They have programs to foster, a ton of free literature about topics pertaining to helping keep pets in the home & thriving. They also offer ā€œDogs, day out Programā€ where after approval, volunteers can sign out dogs, & take them on adventures to help with socializing them. We ended up taking home a new addition to our Family, a 3 month old grey DSH kitty with Zero adoption fees right now. Such a great overall experience. Can’t wait for our applications to approved for Doggy day out. Thank you so much for all you do to help support the community both human & animal kind.

I prefer adopting from here over any private shelter. You are legitimately saving and changing a life. Shelters like Rivco are government funded and are forced to take in every animal. This leads them to be flooded with animals with not enough funding to take care of them all. You can tell that all the workers and volunteers care for and are trying their best to find new homes for the animals. We were getting sick of all the ridiculous hoops you had to jump through to get approved for adoption by some of these other shelters. But Rivco made the adoption process super quick and simple and even waived the adoption fees just so their animals could be placed in a loving home. We absolutely love our new pets and are so happy to have rescued them. Please give Rivco a shot and I guarantee you will find your new family member. They have so many animals at risk for euthanasia because of lack of funding and space (at no fault of themselves). Save a life today and adopt from Riverside County Animal Services ā¤ļø

The facility was very clean and didn't smell bad like a lot of animal shelters tend to do. The staff were incredible! So I decided to adopt Daisy. She's a 9 year old female weimranar/pit mix. As you see in the first picture, she was very underweight and a month later looks like a healthy, beautiful girl!! I adopted her on November 30, 2019 and within two weeks I had to put my Lexi-Bischon Frisay of 14 years to sleep. Daisy came to me at the most perfect time and I'm so entirely grateful for her. A very special thank you to Jeanette for your patience and understanding the day of adoption. Thank you for giving me and Daisy ample time to see if we'd be a good fit for each other. But also Jeanette, thank you for your understanding and compassion the morning I had to bring in Lexi.
