Build-A-Bear Workshop — Local services in San Jose

I got an unstuffed Build-A-Bear Toothless for Christmas and I was happy to receive it. I didn't have time to go to the Build-A-Bear in Thousand Oaks because we were going on vacation and since that place we were going to would have a Build-A-Bear, I brought the unstuffed Toothless and his wings, and one shirt, his shoes, the roller skates and so on. We went there on January 8th this year and I was happy I grabbed the unstuffed toothless out of the car and I forgot about his wings and I hid him behind my back because they will think that I got the toothless from them. There was a long line because someone was helping a person with the Build-A-Bear and I looked at the scents and I smelled them. I was so happy and we were waiting we got the toothless and then we were supposed to write the birth certificate last but my Uncle was supposed to do it on the second step. The lady was there. She was there and she helped us with the sound and when I said a toothless sound she went down to the movies page and then scrolled for toothless It had a you might also like page. It had the light Fury's sound on it And it was fun I chose the Luna sound instead of toothless because it sounded cute. And then we went to the machine. They had the scents hanging by the sides and I stepped on the pedal and Toothless was alive. He was happy And then I had to get a heart in the bucket. I chose a red one and then we had to do a ceremony. The person told me to clap my hand and rub it on my head my nose and my side and make a wish. My wish was for Toothless to be sleeping. And It came true he snored when we came home. And I chose the birthday cake scent for him. I was sad they didn't have the bath but I got a second unstuffed Toothless and I will do it at the Thousand Oaks one this time. And then I chose clothes My uncle wanted me to get the saddle for toothless but when we fit it on he looked like a lunatic. I said to my uncle "Toothless looks like a lunatic!" And then I didn't want to buy the saddle. Instead I bought him a Ravenclaw robe I thought only females were ravenclaws but the males were slytherins. And then I got him a tutu and it was so cute, toothless was wearing this tutu on the ride home. And then I chose the house for toothless I looked up the birth certificate and I decided to keep it Toothless. On the way home it was night and then toothless sat next to me in his house. He was so cute. I just can't stop looking at his big green eyes. And then he slept on the ride home. We can hear his snoring. But he woke up and then we went to the restaurant and then I changed toothless into a basketball shirt I found at home and then. The next day toothless wore his Ravenclaw robe as a PJ. And It was still winter, and Toothless was hibernating. Toothless was snoring cuz he was so tired. He didn't wake up. That's what happened to Luna. And then I thought I lost Toothless's wings. But it was under my seat in my uncle's car. And I received a call from my uncle. He said he found the wings under my seat in the car. And then when I got the second one the second one had his wings borrowed by the...

Super rude staff member. It was mine and my almost 3 year old daughter 1st time. When I got there no one come to help so I found a staff person who was Just standing there and ask her to help us because it was my daughter's 3rd birthday gift. She took me to the beras and told me that I can choose any of these bears But wasn't clear about anything else. From my understanding, when you go there and you get a birthday bear you pay the age that the child is turning well that was not the case for us. After I chose my bear she told me to go stand in A-line to get the bear filled and that's all the help we got. My daughter wanted the bear to sing her Happy Birthday but I couldn't figure out the machine so we couldn't do that.. there was no one there helping, I saw a lot of employee just standing around looking around but not helping and I didn't want to get out of the line to find someone to help because the line was so long. So once we got our bear stuffed again there is no one helping and I just found some clothes to put on the bear and then went to check out and that's when I found out that the bear that the lady had showed us does not qualify for Happy Birthday bear and no 1 had told us so I ended up spending over $70.

There's only one bear that qualifies for the birthday special bear and that bear says Happy Birthday on it but again but again the communication was not there...

Don’t waste your time… We took our two year-old here for her birthday.

After waiting for 10 minutes we finally got our turn to fill the birthday bear, but then we were told we should go to another area to record our voices.

After we went back in line, we waited another five minutes, but then we were told that we were in the wrong line. Even after we told both employee and the manager that we had already been there for a long period of time around 20 minutes, The manager still told us that we have to go out the back of the line. The manager!?!?

We were very disappointed as this was our daughters first bear. We were polite and patient but very surprised that the manager did not care to listen or help us out.

I have been coming here ever since I was a kid (I have 20 bears growing up) and am disappointed our daughter will not share the same happiness.
