Ordered online via Clover at 6:23 PM and the drinks were not done until 7:13 PM. The drinks here are really good but come on... what even was the point of ordering ahead of time? You'll probably get your order faster if you just order in person. But if that's the case, please just get rid of online ordering.
EDIT IN RESPONSE to the owner's reply: I appreciate the quality and freshness of the drinks at MACU, but when your order confirmation says your drinks will be ready in 15 mins, customers will expect that when they show up after 15 minutes, the drink will be ready for them to pick up. If that's consistently not the case, then we should be informed in the order confirmation that drinks will be finished upon customer arrival. I have been to the Cupertino MACU and had to wait 25+ minutes IN PERSON for my drinks to come out, so it's difficult to tell the difference between that experience and this one. Whether it's waiting because the drink hasn't even been started yet or it just needs to be topped off, customers just can't know, especially if we are not being told. I've rarely encountered anywhere where ordering ahead means you order, then show up and ask for your drink before it's finished/made. Isn't order ahead supposed to be that you walk in and grab your drink and go? If I order a warm pastry ahead at Starbucks, for example, the barista heats up my pastry, I show up, and I pick up my pastry from the counter. I don't show up, ask, "hi, I'm Felicia, I ordered a bagel but I don't see it" and then the barista pops it in the oven for me to wait.
With that said, it's totally fine from my perspective if you want to do things differently for the sake of "maintaining the quality of our drinks," but again, please just communicate that ahead of time. There are plenty of places that make people wait after arriving even with ordering ahead--Five Guys makes me wait for fresh fries when I show up and McDonald's makes me wait for my order too--but the difference is that both of those places tell me I have to wait before I order.
Last but not least, my husband asked for our drinks when we arrived, was told that they were still making it, and had to double back and say that we ordered almost an hour ago before the employee went and searched for our order and it was made. At no point was it communicated that they were waiting for us to show up to finish our order--that would have been nice to know then and there, and the fact that this is being used as the supposed explanation now seems a bit...

The drinks here are delicious. They have lots of fruit drinks and non-caffeinated drinks which is great because I'm trying to avoid caffeine. They use real fruit and you can taste the ripeness. You can see the boxes of fresh mangoes in the store. 10/10
They also sell reusable macu tea bottles ($35). Didn't know the price beforehand so was kinda shocked, but the usefulness of a reusable boba jar that isn't plastic tempted me on my zero-waste journey.
Here, have an un-aesthetic photo to see what it...
