This review is for interior design services. My contract is linked to this location for some reason, even though I started the process at Milpitas store. Signed the contract in Aug'21 it's now May'22 and still no kitchen remodel. I understand supply chain issues but atleast the branch office could return my calls and provide an update. The project was financed on Home Depot credit card and they have been sending bills to pay. it would be more fair to bill the customer once project is scheduled to start. Is anyone else having issues like this?
**update July 2022: Kitchen work is mostly done, and quality is pretty decent as far as I can tell thus far. I like the light gray cabinet color, white may have made it a little brighter and spacious looking but I thought it may stain easily. The Cambria quartz is classy, very happy we did that and not granite. The pattern is a little busier than i remembered when i went to the gallery to pick out, but then again we picked this out last September or so..it's been a minute. It's Cambria Berwyn is still very beautiful choice.
There is a kitchen cabinet accessory that was missing, so HD had to re-order and then someone will have to come out and install. Would have been nice if someone checked this as soon as our project got scheduled. Unfortunately, we only realized after cabinet guy said he was done and leaving..luckily I had just happened to open that specific cabinet. I also realized after he left that a drawer is unable to fully open as stove knob interferes. He did all the refacing/cabinetry with the stove removed. So needless to say there are some open issues with cabinets/drawers. Will update again once this is resolved.
Counters were installed by Plamar, overall they did a good job with the install and the crew was professional. One thing that caught me off guard as they were leaving is in bar overhang there is an area which looks unfinished and they said we can buy crown molding and put it there. I know that there are nicks, scrapes, scratches that can happen when removing the existing tile and HD made us sign off in the contract that they are not responsible for damages/repairs as result of this removal. But this is 100+ inch section that is now exposed. I am waiting to hear back from our designer on what can be done here. Pic attached so you can better understand...
Read moreAs a property manager I tend to visit Home Depot more than the average homeowner, and over the past 10 years I have shopped the San Leandro, El Cerrito, Emeryville, and Oakland stores. Of these, the San Leandro store is by far my favorite and has the best customer service.
Staff is generally friendly and helpful - I contrast this to the Oakland and Emeryville stores where I literally have been ignored by staff, and when I ask where an item is at the Emeryville store I have received a reply of, "it's somewhere over there..." followed by the wave of a hand as the employee goes about his business. Really?!
At the Oakland store, the crew is tight, maybe a little too tight. I usually have to interupt chatting team members to get any help, and several times the cashiers have held running conversations with each other while ringing up customers. Because of this, I've had to visit customer service twice to have errors corrected on my receipt.
The staff at the San Leandro store, on the other hand is friendly but not overly social, is helpful and often very knowledgeable. And special kudos to assistant store manager Don. On the rare occasions a problem has popped up that a staff member could not help me with, Don has made a point to step in and do anything he can to solve the problem. It's refreshing to know the asst. magr staff is hands on and willing to work a problem to find a solution.
That said, they are not perfect: it is nearly impossible to get a question answered by phone - the line rings an average of 10-20 times before it is picked up, and when I ask for a certain department, I often sit on hold for 10 minutes or more.
So most of the time I just drive over and speak with one of the helpful specialists running around the store. And I always leave satisfied - can't ask for...

On those valves when you buy them they are $ 9.85 each but if you buy 20 or more they are $4.85 each we needed 18 valves so we bought 20 and saved big. Home Depot is a good Hardware Store all together some i couldn't go wrong and that Hardware has helped in almost every way with almost everything. Bought 9 windows for the house at a good price at the Emery Ville Home depot but was having trouble getting them to the house becouse we do not have a car or truch inorder to get them there , and Andrew the sales person said the if we get this other window he would be able to have the windows delivered to the house for free and the other window we bought was better than the one we first chose and he made some ajustments to the prices to a coupple of the other windows that made everything less expensive and got the windows to the house with out any worry or concern. Plus the windows all came at one time and was 2-3 days before the expected arrival date. Plus when we where looking of windows another time Andrew called us and let us know that the windows we needed where in and we should come and get them and these where windows that where off the shelf. Alm the windows look great in our house because Of us choosing to buy the at Emery Ville Home Depot. Thank You Andrew at store #627 for showing us alittle peace of Heaven. Yours Truly 🌻...
