CSUSM University Bookstore — Local services in San Marcos

The college is decent. But the students running tours need some etiquette lessons. And don't tell people to park in a specific parking lot without explaining that the parking kiosks are limited to only one in the very corner of the lot. Impossible to see unless you first drive the entire lot searching for it. :-/ was Not happy when we arrived a lil late due to accident on freeway. Wasn't expecting a full on tour when we were late, but also wasn't expecting to get ticketed when we parked where we were told to park and couldn't see the parking kiosk. Wasn't even there...

The bookstore posted the textbooks required for all of my classes, but failed to specify which version we needed. After classes started, the bookstore refused to give me a a refund on my textbooks after my professor said that we needed different versions than what was listed on the bookstore website. The bookstore will only offer a full refund if your professor speaks to the course materials manager directly. Unfortunately the textbooks I needed to return were only found at the CSUSM bookstore. If I can help it, I won't be ordering books...

The experience is quite strange. Picking up books requires you walk all the way to the back left corner of the store. The front usually gets packed full of people trying to return books or buy them. Although slightly unorganized in that manner, finding the book you need it easier. It is also easy to distinguish rentals from full priced and used books when searching on the shelves.
