My family and I have always enjoyed this restaurant. They have a family feel and although their staff changes often they have always been friendly. Sadly, after last night we will not be returning. My wife ordered me a dish to take home (pla la prik, fish dish) which is what I have pictured. It looked completely different than usual and has a weird "gravy" consistency. After eating a little, I didn't feel great so put it aside. 30 minutes later I have unbelievable stomach pain and begin vomiting. I called the next day after I was feeling better and got no sympathy. The staff are great but ownership needs to understand that when they make a mistake they should fix it. Not offering some soup. We left a 25% tip because we always enjoy the service here. We have eaten here 8 times in the past 18 months and we had planned to keep coming. We have brought friends and recommended it to many others Too bad the ownership is so bad because we will not be returning or recommending anymore. Truly disappointed. And sorry for the staff, because they are wonderful. We'll be finding a new Thai restaurant to frequent.

Stopped by after my training course for dinner. Dine in wasn't too busy so we were seated pretty much immediately. We ordered the angel wings, papaya salad, beef noodle soup, pineapple fried rice & mango sticky rice. Angel wings was a bit on the salty side. It's marinated in tamarind sauce but tasted like it was overwhelmed with fish sauce. We tried to balance out the flavor with the papaya salad but it was a bit too salty for us. They were nice enough to not charge us for it. Papaya salad was fresh & flavorful. Not over or under seasoned. Huge serving. 10/10. The beef noodle soup is pretty much like the traditional thai boat noodle soup minus the pork/beef blood. Perfectly flavored. 10/10. The pineapple fried rice is a definite must have. It was cooked & flavored to perfection. 10/10 We were too full by the time the mango sticky rice came out, so we took it to-go. Service was 10/10. Servers were very attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're craving Thai food when you're in San Marcos.

I am so happy Thai Thai is finally open, I cried when I got my food it was so amazing… I don’t even know how to do it justice. The flavors where all there in ways other Thai places leave me wanting. Lime, lemongrass, spice, pickled chiles, galangal, heat, sweet and sour flavors to Incredible to describe. Staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about veganism. Will make dishes vegan on request which is awesome because sometimes it’s a struggle. My fiancé who before this said all Thai food is soup (kinda jokingly) was super happy with the offering and all the images they had to go along with the food descriptions. I got tofu spring rolls, Tom yum hot pot, and garlic and pepper tofu. My fiancé got real duck & green beans, which he loved but I didn’t bother to remember the name because I was in tofu heaven. They do have mock meat options I’m just a tofu gal.

We have been going to Thai Thai Restaurant for years first at their Fallbrook branch and then in their Vista branch when they opened. When Thon's crew moved to open the Oceanside branch we followed and now here in San Marcos. We love all kinds of food and often try new Restaurants but Thai Thai is the best Thai food we've been to in both customer service and taste. Over the years we've probably tried every dish in their menu and have no real complaints. Of course we have our favorites like Pineapple Fried Rice, Papaya Salad, Shrimp Fresh Spring Rolls, Mussaman Curry, Tom Kha Soup, and Tiger Cry Steak. All the dishes have options of proteins or vegetarian and spicy levels from 0-10. I'm a wimp so 0 or 1 is my usual option while my son & hubby goes for 3-5. This is authentic Thai food so watch your spice level choice. The highest anyone of our friends and family has ever tried is an 8 (that was our first time ever) and no one in our group has gone that high since (hahahah). They have an excellent lunch menu that includes soup, Cucumber salad, and appetizers plus your choice of rice and main dish. They do serve beer, wine, and other beverages. I wish they served spiked Thai tea or spiked Thai Coffee (hahahaha). Overall, the price is about average, the variety of choices is superb, the ambiance is relaxing, the service is friendly & fast, and I would rate the food a 4.7 out of 5. I recommend you try Thai Thai Restaurant...
