Andy's Sun Valley Market — Local services in San Rafael

I shop here only 3-4 times a year, as I live in another part of San Rafael, but I really dig this place. As a small local market--with limited shelf space, and the other constraints faced by any business of this size--they do a superb job, with product selection tailored to a hip, nutritionally-conscious upper-middle-class Norcal clientele.

Whenever I go in, I always seem to spend far more than I've intended to try out their stuff--most of which my g/f and I seem to get addicted to. They've got a knack for spotting and stocking...

Honestly? Its got a monopoly on our neighborhood. The staff is nice, but the ice cream is consistently burnt, salads slightly old, and the company chips taste like corn dogs - odd but true. I also get the feeling that this market gets all of the older food from the other markets. Back to the ice cream: why so burnt? There's ice cream thats 8$ a pint, with freezer burn on the outside, thats obviously been sitting there for months. Just turn down the freezer? I dunno seems like...

I eat at sandwich spots all the time and I have to say these guys are absolutely the best in Marin County. Nobody has better sandwiches than these guys and the staff are awesome. Just got a sandwich yesterday and it seems like every time I come here it just gets better and...
