What a MIRACLE brunch I had a Miracle Mile cafe in San Rafael, CA! I’m so happy I found this hidden gem near Downtown because this brunch spot is everything. This is an American-Previan runned restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch. They also have an amazing variety of gluten free, vegetarian , and vegan options that were delicious to choose from. I was able to try 5 items and I have to say, a lot of them tasted so well and I really think the food is super addicting. I was able to try their Marin scramble (which is basically tofu and stir fried vegetables), Marin avocado toast, famous cinnamon roll pancakes, their Frisco burrito, and their flan.
Their cinnamon rolled pancakes are a major must when you come to this cafe. Literally, they taste 100 times better than regular cinnamon rolled buns. When you drizzle that syrup on that pancake, the first bite is heaven in my mouth. That sweet and buttery pancake with that light sweet syrup is just the best flavor combination than a regular pancake. The sweetness was just right and I was able to eat all of it since it was that light and not a sugar overload. This would be the most highly recommended item I would get at this place.
I also had their Marin avocado toast which was perfect with that over easy egg oozing out of that yolk! The moment you break that egg on that toast, it’s perfect. The bread was nice and crunchy, the avocado tasted fresh, and that egg yolk acted like a “hollandaise” sauce on the toast and that made the meal not only complete, but also tasty. I just wish there was a lemon to squeeze the avocado on so I can get that acidity aspect also but I think that’s just me being picky.
The frisco burrito would be another item I would recommend too. It had a nice spicy flavor and I loved the soy chorizo and how it wasn’t too oily. In the past, I had soy chorizo that was oily and it ruined the entire burrito because it just tasted like oil. With this burrito, I got a nice flavor balance between the avocados, tofu, soy chorizo, and the pico de gallo was super nice and I loved the mild, earthy, spicy flavor in this burrito. I thought it was delightful and I would really recommend getting this breakfast burrito.
The Marin scramble is a great option to choose if you are vegan because you get nice cut up seasoned tofu and vegetables that have a nice texture and are seasoned well. I liked the dish. I thought it tasted very nicely but I will admit it wasn’t my favorite dish but that’s definitely okay because there are amazing options to choose from that I love. I also had their flan which was house made and I love that flan because it was very smooth and ahhhh I just love flan in general!
Overall, I would definitely come back to this cafe! The variety of gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options s were astonishing to eat. The staff was very nice to me and I just think this cafe is a gem to San Rafael! Follow me @the.flexitarian.aholic for more...
Read moreNot sure why it had high ratings………But……The restaurant started off as a 5 and by the time I was finished it’s a 1….! Waiting for my mom to come out of surgery I decided to eat somewhere different while I waited. My friend and I searched on Google and she landed here at this place. So after a few glances and a few reviews I said be adventurous and just go Carmel!!!!! BOY WAS I WRONG The reason why I give this place a 2 star was because of the following …… The front row parking was perfect, I had a disabled person with me and it was perfect for them and the walker they had. We were seated quickly in the warm beautiful sun ☀️, and we were greeted by the manager (I guess that’s who he was) Idk 🤷♂️ That cinnamon roll pancake was killer… it tasted like a flat grilled cinnamon roll baby!!
Now I will never come here again because of the following issues…..
I thought that my omelet came with cheese automatically. The waiter never asked me and I never asked because I assumed it just did. Well they were shocked that both me and my guest wanted cheese 🧀. So they took our plates and we agreed that all they had to do was place a slice of cheese on top of the omelette and melt it. Well that they did, but it just turned out to be a big blog of cheese on my plate! Yuck 🤮
The large mimosa pitcher we had 🍷 was horrible. Tasted like liquor store quality champagne with blue food coloring.
Water 💦 tasted like it was out of the faucet Potatoes were bland no salt 🧂 or seasoning The fruit was pliable 🍉 The biscuit 🍞 was pleasant They only gave you a tsp. of the jam so I had to request more I asked for the bill 💵 3 times but I guess a Spanish celebrity came in and that was it of any attention to our table! Frustrated 😡 I just walked inside and waited at the counter to pay my bill. It was $100. 60 and they asked for a tip too. The last reason I WOULD NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN was the annoying wasps 🐝 that were flying around. They had a bowl with some brown liquid inside of it to keep them away from the tables. They never brought it to our table so with every bite I took I was swatting them. When we left he took the bowl and sat it on the special guest table. Mind you the bowl was sitting on a table with no guest the whole time we were sitting there.
Waste of my time and money 💰
But…… My search continues for great spontaneous cafes and...
Read moreAbsolutely blown away by the food and service. Miguel, the cook, has a son who is super sensitive to gluten so he really goes the extra mile to make sure you don’t get sick, even having color coded plates to identify super sensitive people and they aren’t at ALL annoyed by asking a million questions. The whole time Luis and Miguel were laughing and smiling with me while I asked 80 thousand questions. I can’t do potatoes or nightshades so they made my chicken without any paprika and let me substitute a huge fruit bowl instead of potatoes. Absolutely extraordinarily good gluten free biscuits with homemade jam. Will definitely be bringing family and friends with me at some point. Really recommend the design your own omelette and going early. I got there at 745 ish and was the only person but when I left at 830 several people started rolling in (on a Tuesday even??) lol. Looks like it can get pretty wild & busy. Also I rolled in with a pretty bad case of hat hair since I’ve been camping the past few days and there was absolutely zero judgement and nothing but fun and friendly vibes. The type of people you’d want to hangout and eat breakfast with, which is what you want in a diner. Thank you Luis and Miguel, you guys...
