Encore Consignment of Marin — Local services in San Rafael

I’m surprised by all of the positive reviews for this place… I quite literally had my worst consignment experience yet. I called the store to get clarification on their selling process. It was like pulling teeth to get them to answer a question, they were incredibly rude, and they even hung up on me mid-sentence. Then, when I brought my items in to review, they refused to even look through them even though I’ve seen the exact same garments sold in their store before. Instead, they told me my items were “skimpy” and recommended I take them somewhere “younger” (I had brought in several Tommy Bahama dresses). So I guess Tommy Bahama is too youthful for them....

My sister and I two young Latina women came into this store on a nice Tuesday at 11 am. Just looking around hoping to find something good (although there was nothing good in here). And the white lady at the register kept staring and giving dirty looks at us the entire time we were in the store. I LOVE this place!!! Last time I went there the owner and staff gave me excellent recommendations for clothes and also brought out some 'just in' spring dresses that were totally gorgeous. I had a new wardrobe in less than an hour and I left feeling like a million dollars - three new dresses for a tenth the cost they would have been in a store and in like new condition.
