Bagel Street — Restaurant in San Rafael

If I could put less than one star I would. This review is not based on the bagels it is based on the quality of the customer service of which Tommy Tren doesn't seem to have any experience with. I used a wonderful app called Too Good To Go which has worked successfully with many restaurants world wide. It helps restaurants to not throw away food and gives a good price for the customer. However, when I showed up to pick up my order after driving a half hour and parking, Bagel Street Cafe was closed. Needless to say I was confused and disappointed, the app "Too Good to Go" refunded my money when I told them what happened. Later when I spoke with " Tommy" the manager/owner? he said that basically if he runs out of bagels then too bad for me... he doesn't make any money on the deal and that's how the app works. He sounded irritated with me that I had a complaint. Actually, that's not how the app works and I suggested he either take himself off of the app or check how it works. He said he only had one other complaint about this so it wasn't a high priority. He should have said, sorry you drove all the way, I will check into this app and see how it works so this doesn't happen to someone else or we will not use the app since it doesn't pay us to do so, and by the way come by again for one of our bagels to see how good they taste. This guy was so bad even my husband tried to nicely suggest better business practices but he just told him that it was fine for me to write a scathing review. I know there are more important issues going on now than bagels but this guy needs to NOT be in a business that involves making people happy because he gets no satisfaction from it. I never never never want to set my foot in any Bagel Street Cafe even if I am starving to death. And I apologize for saying this but I have a secret hope no one else goes there either. Very disappointed. This is the second day I have come here both around 10/11am (not too late in the day) to find a very poor bagel selection. I mean come on??? you're a bagel place??? have a decent variety?? all the plain bagels were sold out, leaving gross strawberry and chocolate chip bagels no one wants. why not, I don't know.. make MORE plain bagels and normal flavors if that's the demand, which it clearly is seeing no one touches the other random flavors. seriously. I came in today randomly for the first time today from the pet store nearby. I was really hungry but didn't know what to do because I had my dog with me. I called and told the lady over the phone told her if I could place the order and if they could bring it out for me because I had my dog. She said, no don't worry, you come in and pay and leave it's okay. They have tile floor so it made sense and really I appreciated that I didn't have to go hungry. My tuna melt was tasty, but what really made my day was their freshly baked breads in different flavors sold by the slice, I got pumpkin, zucchini, and banana for my partner. Best store bought bread ever! Soooo delicious! I will be returning.
