Everything about this business is literally my definition of perfect! First time I came here I was surprised by not only their stock but their Customer Service, The location, They even have an old Pac-man Machine. I vaguely knew about this place but never bothered until last week when GameStop was mysteriously closed? I'm still puzzled why because this was after Labor Day and they were in Operating Hours.
Anyways: I came in here originally to check out their stock as originally planned with Gamestop, and they actually have some neat stuff. I saw a Lego Animal Crossing set, A Gardevoir Card going for 120 which is typical for what they designed on there, And a...Switch 2 Mario Kart Anti-Theft Scanner Cover that you find in Walmart? That one I had more questions about, but I never asked about it since it was my first time and manners dictated
Skip this paragraph if you don't care about my story:
Came home and decided that's a great place to sell my old PS3 stuff. I looked at their IG and they supposedly quote via there. So I gave all the details, 2 Dualshock controllers and a bakers dozen of games with all the damages attached. They we're quite friendly in DMs (and now that I write this I realize that i could send photos on IG this entire time, oops) - But in Layman's Terms, They said 30 to 50 bucks (and i said to them "assuming they were in working condition"). So I got them in the store, Everything worked. They gave me the options between 30 dollars cash or 50 dollars credit which considering storage and logistics, It's a good deal. I took the credit because I know well that I'm gonna be a repeat customer with how everything went
Interestingly - There was one hiccup I did find here. How this store is placed, When I was navigating there I was searching for it and passed by here like 3 times by mistake (how did i miss the BIG SNORLAX...) I did correct myself but I had to parallel park and found it immediately after. I'll pin that mistake on me but if you're coming here for the first time, please pay attention to your surroundings when locating it. Other than that, That's just about it for problems.
I'd like to say as a final note: Thank you for having the best Customer Service I've seen yet!!! Not just in the Metro, but the Cimarron...
Read moreUpdated review.... I had an original review but wanted to do a complete update. This has quickly become my favorite game store in the greater tulsa area. First off the staff running the store are super chill. Easy to talk to, not uncomfortable or awkward and extremely nice. Alot of times video game store staff can be too over whelming and not let you shop or have an awkwardness to them that makes you uncomfortable, there is 0 of that here at okie retro. My initial review said I just wished there was more stock but within literally a week there's a slow but growing stock. They have badass grails that will make any collector drool hahahahah. Store is clean and they also offer disc buffing. Their trade credit is absolutely amazing, PLEASE if you're trading in a collection please come here. It will help a small business bump their stock but you'll also be happy with the your credit or payout. I've shopped damn near every game store within a 40 mile radius of tulsa and I genuinely think trade credit and friendly staff alone make this a top tier store. They also have vhs, game guides and pokemon cards! Long review short give okie retro a visit and hopefully become a regular like I quickly have. OH AND THE COOLEST PART they have an account system where you can put your number and games youre hunting for and they will call you if they get it traded in. Only one other video game store ive ever gone to has done this. It is an amazing idea and guarantees return customers and also encourages in person hunting, makes collecting more fun than browsing...
Read moreI was on my way to the post office to ship a magic card and saw Pokémon and Final Fantasy art in the window, so I had to stop by and see what they were all about. These people were very friendly and happy to discuss everything candidly with me.
I asked if they had any plans to start selling magic cards, and not only did they say yes; they were genuinely excited about it. They’ve just started reaching out to distributors and navigating the arcane world of MTG vendor systems. While they’re not selling magic cards yet, they’re actively gauging local interest and are super open to suggestions.
If you’re into retro gaming, pokémon, or magic, this place is absolutely worth checking out. Friendly people, great vibes, and a clear love for the community. Can’t wait to see...
