Not really sure why but I tend to gravitate towards diners, probably because they were prevalent where I grew up.
This was our first visit and it was top tier from the start. Promptly greeted and seated. Drink order taken and delivered while we perused the menu. I had the patty melt and my wife had the Philadelphia sandwich. Patty melt was good, above average but nothing exceptional - but then, it's a cheeseburger on toast, not much to work with. Fries were exceptional; shoestring fried to firm, one step before crispy. Philly was out of this world! I don't know if they marinated the beef, added something to the peppers or what but it's one of the best I've had in Oklahoma. 5 stars for sure.
We normally don't order desserts but the server was so good - and we had time to kill so WTH; why not. Apple pie for me, turtle cheesecake for the wife. Pie was pleasing, flaky lattice crust excellent balance of fruit, sugar and spices. The turtle cheesecake was so good, I'd drive to Sand Springs just for the dessert.
If you're in Sand Springs, they're on Lincoln just off of 2nd Street. Search them out, you're taste buds and tummy...
Read moreI usually only eat breakfast here and it’s delicious. However, My first time eating dinner here was June 27,2018. Before I ordered I was told Thursday night dinner is way better with more flavor. I still went on ahead and order the special of butterfly pork chops. I was amazed for the huge portion for only $7.99. Sadly there was absolutely no flavor. Pork chop was grilled with no seasoning. Corn straight out the can flavor (hint no seasoning or nothing), mash potatoes kind of saved the day with the white gravy but still just soooo basic in flavor. Mashed potatoes were definitely real potatoes and not the nasty powder. This place Has soooo much potential and I hope the chef takes It more serious. Especially since sand springs is rapidly growing. I defiantly wanna come back on a Thursday night and try that chefs food. I would rather spend money here than Colton’s cafe any day. I just gotta pack my own seasoning...
Read moreI arrived at about 1:30 in the afternoon for lunch. I asked the waitress what the specials were and she showed me the board and I chose the meatloaf. At 2:15 I was finally served my meatloaf. I was one minute from leaving. The waitress was dressed with a pair of pants that was cleared down around her butt, it was covered with a t-shirt but it was not appropriate,in my opinion, for this type of dress for somebody serving food. A party of six came in after me and their food were served before mine. Apparently the meatloaf had to be made but was not told this after I ordered. I would have been happy to pick something else to eat with no complaints . I have eaten breakfast many times with no complaints. Always good food and service. It may be awhile before I decided to eat lunch. One good thing. The...
