I visited the Sandy, Utah store today because I am familiar with their quality products from on-line shopping. The weather was particularly bad so their were only about 4 or 5 customers in the store. I would guess the staff outnumbered the customers at least 2 to 1. I was looking around, trying on clothes and belts for about 30 minutes. NO EMPLOYEE greeted me, asked if they could assist me, or even nodded their head to acknowledge that I was successfully converting oxygen into carbon dioxide. I was going to buy a belt (bearing a Nordstroms’s price), but the only cashier was waiting on three customers and she her station to confirm a price. I have never balked at paying for quality and I would likely have purchased several items IF I HAD NOT BEEN IGNORED. I don’t know what the employees thought was more important than waiting in customers and frankly I don’t care. I expect to be ignored at factory outlet stores, but not when I am paying full price. Good luck, Duluth, but I don’t think this store is going to prosper with such disregard for...
Read moreI like this place. Love the clothes. Hate something they do tho. I know for a fact they gonna be super nice and offer me help. It's their business model. I get it. It works for about 80% of the customers they have so it works well. Unfortunately I'm in the minority that really wants to be left alone. They gonna offer help 3 times. At least. After that they gonna soft push with a greeting. Several more times. They sell a lot of khakis this way. Lots.
I really like their clothes tho. As far as work clothes it's Carhartt, FR, or Duluth for me. So I put up with the sales teams. If you are like me and it really gets under your skin worse they legit have one of the best online shops out there. It doesn't bother me enough to go online when I have one local.
The firehose 5 pocket may be the best men's pants available in America. Seriously. I don't wear the drawers they have. I prefer a smaller version than they offer. Anyway.
Good stuff. Great prices. Super friendly staff if at times can seem a little...
Read moreI bought fire hose relaxed fit pants two months ago for my plus-sized son. They were lose on him which was great because it would allow for maximum movement. I was told by a store employee that their return policy was great and if they ripped, even not on a seam, we could return them for a refund or exchange. Well, they ripped right on the thigh. I called customer support and was told to go into the store. I went to the store and spoke with Mora who took one look at the pants and said she was "going to let Paul deal with this". Paul looked at the pants for one second and said because they weren't ripped on a seam they couldn't take them back as we must have misused them. We bought a 48 waist. I would assume it's expected that thighs will rub together while moving when you wear this size waist. I don't trust Duluth and will not be shopping there...
