I truly wanted to leave a better review, and I wanted a great bed buying experience. Yet what I discovered is so wrong. If you try to leave a honest review on the sleep number website about their beds and it is not great, they reject the review and deny people an open forum and complete disclosure. So you cannot trust their customer ratings because they only allow the good ones.
I was sold a split king bed and spent over $9000. First, you have a 100 night offer to try it and like it or return it, but if you buy the needed base to use the mattress that part of the sale is final and not returnable. The problem with my experience is that the split king was portrayed to me as a very minimal gap between the mattresses. My reality is that the gap is about 5 inches and can be a little more or less. I did not like that at all. I would lose remotes and my dog would fall into the gap. So I called to change it to the lower price flex top mattress and it ended up costing me more money to make the exchange.
Then they tell you that if you make the exchange, you can no longer return the mattress unless defective. And so much for a 100-night trial. I wanted to keep the bed anyway, but buyer beware. If you think you are going to try this bed and be able to return it and not be stuck with any product or not owe thousands of dollars for a base, you are wrong. You get a cushion-wrapped air mattress on a required base. And you cannot trust their website for reviews because they don't allow any negative reviews. So my lesson cost me almost $10,000. Read moreSo I'm really happy with our sleep number bed. It's been a long time since I've slept so well. However, my complaints are with the sales rep that sold us our bed. He was a super nice guy but I felt he wasn't always listening when I was talking. He embellished some of the capabilities of the bed. For example: he told us the bed uses your biometrics to be able to track what stage of sleep your in and you can program it with your alarm to wake you up when your in your lightest stage of sleep. Well, this is bogus. That was one of the things I was most excited about and when the bed came, we quickly realized it wasn't capable of that. Very disappointing. He also spent an INCREDIBLE amount of time talking and me and my husband had our little 4 year old and baby with us. They did GREAT for the bulk of the time but because the sales rep just kept rambling, the sale took significantly longer than necessary. It got to a point where he wanted to show me something on the app and I just told him no because I needed to get my kids home. After that, I dont know if he was nervous or what, but when he was explaining items in the sale he was trying so hard to talk fast that I couldnt even understand half of what he had said.
