Marden's Inc. — Local services in Sanford

Please disregard this review was not posted for Marden's!!! It was my mistake it was posted for the stores in Settlers Green in North Conway! I did however go to Martin's and find three pair of shoes and one pair of beach shoes. So I am very happy with ' Marden's department store as I usually am when the wife and I go to Wells. So I will leave this review up but it is not for Marden's discount store!

It is for the stores particular shoe stores in Settlers Green in North Conway New Hampshire! I was shopping for sneakers enough places in there to find some sneakers. You would think! Hard to get a good sneaker for a reasonable amount of money. Let alone a cheap sneaker that's half decent for a small amount of money. Couldn't find nothing in any of the shoe stores in there that was worth a darn. You wanted to spend 79 bucks you could find something that would work. Didn't want to spend that. Would rather put more money to it and get a nice hiking shoe that will double as a sneaker! Maybe I'm just cheap when it comes to buying sneakers. We went elsewhere and found what we wanted!...

We checked out the furniture store and the “department” store. We shopped there maybe a decade ago and wanted to see if anything had changed. The furniture store had a variety of discount couches, as advertised, and we were able to check out how comfy everything was. A friendly staff member came over to answer questions and make themselves available. There was no hard sell, which we appreciated. The other store was a bit more chaotic and some of the shelves were a bit disorganized. This is understandable for a Saturday afternoon, as there were quite a few customers. The grocery section was smaller than it was back 10 years ago. They had lots of discounted food with closer than normal expiration dates, which we were expecting. As long as you use the products right away this is usually fine. We really just come there to see unusual food items, like vanilla tootsie rolls and whatnot, but this time we didn’t notice anything noteworthy. We might go back again not on Saturday afternoon so it wouldn’t be a crowded / hectic. Overall still good places to buy discounted items, but...

Marden’s in general is amazing. Marden’s in Sanford is extra special. Here I find a kind of old-fashioned treatment of the customer. The staff always seem happy to help me or to ring up my purchases. And of course I want to brag about the hometown, small town feel in the store. The fabric department staff and managers are simply amazing. They know their products and their inventory. If it is in the store, these staff members can put their hands right on it. They know their stuff. I went in to purchase some interfacing. This item is usually $1.99/yard. It was a new bolt and had not been placed on the rack, so there was a small smudge of floor dust on one edge. I pointed it out and as I was trying to ask about the dirt mark (perhaps they could cut around it or cut out that section…) the manager offered to not charge me for those inches of dirt. I essentially was gifted a portion of the product. Generous and understanding of my crafting dilemma in facing a dirt smudge. Great people....
