EDIT - I ordered the beef and broccoli on Friday. I got home and started to eat it. Keep in mind I've had beef and broccoli there in the past and was happy with it. Anyway, this time the beef was clearly spoiled. The smell and taste was not right. I asked my wife to smell it and she completely agreed. I called Egg Roll Cafe to report it and suggest they don't serve the beef to anyone else. The response from the person on the phone was sorry you didn't like it - that's it! They just lost a good customer. I understand sometimes food spoils and mistakes are made but their response was wholly inadequate. I threw the rest of it out over the embankment. My previous review was glowing. Too bad.
I ordered the moo-shi pork. The order was fulfilled on time and the people were quite pleasant in spite of it being busy with orders. I'd hadn't had moo-shi in probably 30 years and it was just as I remembered it with the pancakes and the plum sauce. Portions where good (always order extra pancakes). I'm quite happy and will be back. It has the atmosphere of a take out place but it looked clean. You can see where they are preparing the food which is a bonus for me. The food was not greasy like some reviewers said, at least the moo-shi. Maybe they were...
Read moreThe food was good enough. The spicy (Szechuan) chicken was not spicy at all. The sweet and sour chicken was sweet but not sour. The breading was very thick and detracted from the overall flavor. The General TSO's was very bland as well. There were awards posted as the best Chinese in Sanford for last eight years. Makes me wonder about the rest.... Tried to call ahead, but the line was busy every time I tried to call. After 15 minutes, I gave up and tried to order on line. I couldn't figure out how to do it and gave up after a few tries. Tried to call again and it was still busy. Figured the food has to be worth it because of how busy they seemed to be, so I drove over to order. Not too expensive, but not inexpensive either. I would not recommend eating there, it did not look comfortable at all. I wanted sweet and sour pork, but they were out...
Read moreFantastic east coast Chinese food. A little more expensive than others, but well worth it. Compared to the Dreggs you deal with going to a place like yummy, You will find this atmosphere warm and friendly. The woman running the show was fantastic. She was truly kind. Funny, and extremely patient. An elderly man came into the restaurant while I was there. Despite his attitude, abrasive nature, and lack of awareness she was very patient, and kind to the old man. She even calmed his wife down, whom was on the phone, trying to make him understand. She easily spent 20 minutes with this man, and his wife over the phone. After it was all settled she politely said "next time you come in, I'll help you make your oder ok?"
She is also very funny. She made my family laugh with her quite a few times. I...
