Willowick Golf Course in Santa Ana is a real gem, especially if you’re into a bit of history with your golf. Being the oldest golf course in Orange County, dating back to 1928, it’s got that classic charm that’s hard to beat. The greens here? Absolutely solid. They’re well-kept and roll true, making for a smooth putting experience. Now, the fairways are what you’d expect from a municipal course—there are a few rough spots here and there, but nothing that’ll ruin your day. It’s all part of the fun, right? What really stands out about Willowick is the vibe. It’s a laid-back, no-stress kind of place where everyone’s just out to have a good time. The staff and fellow golfers are super friendly, which makes the whole experience that much better. So, if you’re looking for a fun round at a course with some history, you can’t go wrong with Willowick. It’s a place where you can enjoy the game without taking it too seriously. Definitely worth a visit!

Really sad to see the course in the shape it’s in. This was the first golf course I ever played and where my dad used to take me to play when I was a kid. Lots of great memories here. These days there’s graffiti all over the course and a homeless tent camp along the fourth hole. At one point, a homeless guy on a bicycle approached a group of four men and started demanding to know where they were from. I believe he was on drugs. My buddy and I had to hang back to ensure everyone’s safety. Not exactly a relaxing Saturday round of golf (for $51 btw). Hoping that this golf course can turn things around and restore this historic golf course.

if you are looking for a muni then look no further. the greens are actually super nice. the fairways have seen better days but you get what you pay for. jeff in the restaurant knows how to make a damn good glizzy too. the pace of play on saturdays aren’t going to be quick but this place makes for some great people watching. all in all i had a great time!

Willowick Golf Course is not only a Great Course to play with your friends but it should be added to the list of Historical Sites. Why do I say this? Willowick is approaching the 100 year old mark of being in existence......WOW..... you can only imagine how many memories this Historical Beauty has provided to a countless amount of people through out the Decades. I look at it as a true Sanctuary..... I had the Pleasure of meeting and talking with Dan a Corporate Manager for the Billy Casper Company who has recently taken over the ownership of Willowick. The fact that he allowed me the time to talk with him about the make up of "The Wick" gave me a good feeling about what Direction his Company is planning to go in regards to the location. I have Also been talking with a friend of mine who works at the Corporate Headquarters of the S.C.G.A. in Los Angeles about the possibility of including Willowick to the current group of courses that hold a "Weekly Twilight League" which provides a consistent opportunity to play with current friends and the development of possible new friendships. I Truly hope that Dan is a fine example of what we can expect from Billy Casper's Company in the...

Wide open with some great bunkers guarding the greens. Greens were soft but not too slow. Tried the course on a whim and it was a good way to spend the afternoon. Overpriced for the condition, even with the free soda and hot dog. No water hazards and very open "fairways"; in parentheses because they aren't really kept up with some odd weed growth. There wasn't much difference between the rough and the I was able to walk on and the front was very fast, the back nine was a parking lot on every hole. There was no ranger to help move things along so we just got to know all of the other groups. The course could use some signs to direct people to the next hole. If you haven't played the course it's pretty easy to get turned around since most of the holes look pretty similar. I had to ask more than once where the next hole was. The overall maintenance of the course needs some improvement. There is a ton of graffiti on the course. The proshop was pretty sparse so don't go thinking you'll buy your next driver there. The staff was really friendly. Unless I got a killer deal or took someone new out to try golf I don't know I...

Amazing, beautiful warms my heart. A group of Gentlemen kind and welcoming to all. A family within families. Everyone is always welcome. A place of serenity and one's peace of mind. When on the green, whether golfing or just strolling thru the quietness is amazing. Almost as if the outside world does not exists. Your time spent here is very relaxing. The golfers are very kind as they enjoy their day of golf and relaxation. They beauty of this course includes the amazing trees of every kind imaginable. Hundreds of years old and muched loved by the special ones who gave them life. By planting them in a place that they would be able grow and thrive, for many years to come. Giving our community the oxygen and long time history from which we also call home. I have recently viewed a large Bald Eagle perched on one of the antenna's. I believe it has a nest amongst one of our beautiful trees. It also knows where home is. Thank you gentlemen of this golf course for always being there for our families. My children have always admired your kindness and protection of them as well as our community. Our hats off to The Gentlemen...
