Oblivious!
It seems like I am writing more and more negative reviews as of late for poor service from banks, furniture stores, electronic stores, electricians, the list goes on. Very sad the level of service that is provided by businesses today. It is almost as if they don't care and they have plenty of money that they don't need your business!
More specific to this bank, my wife wanted to buy a new car and she is out of the country so she gave me a check for $43K to deposit into my account and purchase the car for her. She banks at BofA and so do I. I called over the weekend to see how long it would take for the check to clear and I was told it would take 7-10 business days! I asked if there was a faster way and I was told she could do online transfer. Well, we tried but there is a $10K limit. I ended up calling several times (at least 6) as I was told we could do "wire transfer" to get the money the same day if it is done before 6 PM EST. Well, there really isn't a wire transfer and there is a $10K limit. We were told she needs to have "Safe Pass" to be able to transfer large amounts which she has had for some time now but that was a crock! Hence the title oblivious. How can an institution hire people that do not know this basic information.
I told my wife I will go in on Monday and cash the check and deposit the cash in my account and it should be available same day. I went in and told the lady that I wanted to cash the check, she said the amount was large and that she would need to speak to her manager. The manager came over and said we could cash the check or deposit it and the funds will be available "tomorrow". Well, it is tomorrow and I have been to the bank to find out what happened. The funds have already left my wife's account and are on hold in my account. They called some other department and they were told that it was on hold for risk purposes! Now how much sense does that make? I could have cashed it yesterday and how were they going to deal with the risk then? The money has been taken out of my wife's account. Where is it?
I told her how come she told me that it would be in my account by 9 AM today, and she said that what she told me was correct!? huh? I said did you qualify any conditions? I asked if it would be in my account for sure the next morning and she said it is from a Bank of America account to another Bank of America account and we can verify the funds quickly.
Not sure if it is being oblivious or ignorant or what, but my gosh! So, frustrating!! What can you do but to write a negative review? That just doesn't seem enough where ignorant businesses can have such profound negative affect on your life and not be accountable for it?
Now I have to go deal with the fallout and contact the dealership, the rental car company, change time off from work to another day to pick up the car, ............... all because of uncaring...

While I appreciate your reply, I have to say that I currently have zero faith in that this place will get better. I say that simply because I saw many negative review also get similar replies, and some of them are actually from long time ago. So I guess that means your leadership team had enough time to realize the issue but they are not capable to solve it.
Why not just tell them that we should put more emphasis on solving the real problem rather than spending time and energy to tried to get every negative review "replied"? If they are able to turn things around to get above 3.0 stars I will be happy to revisit it and edit my review.
2021-12-23: Worst experience ever. I give this branch 1 start simply because I cannot rate it with zero or negative star.
The wait time was very long and when I reached my turn the representative told us they are not able to process our request and we had to wait for another 30 - 40 minutes to talk to the representative in the other side of the room to get our request done. And we left and their manager seems not care about us at all.
They do not try to help their customer to solve the problem but just try to kill their time, and it seemed not matter if you get helped or not. Try to avoid this branch to save...
Read moreI had an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience at this branch of America due to the unprofessional behavior of an employee named Ramon.
I visited the branch because my credit card had been blocked, and I was told I needed to come in person with two IDs to verify recent transactions. I followed all instructions and came prepared — only to be told by Ramon that I would need to wait over an hour, and that they wouldn’t help me today because the bank would be closing soon.
I explained clearly that I work Tuesday through Friday and couldn’t return easily. Despite this, I was told they couldn’t help me today, with no effort to offer a reasonable solution, schedule a time, or even escalate the issue.
I understand that banks have procedures and closing times, but turning away a customer who came fully prepared — just because the process takes time — is unacceptable and ethically wrong.
Suppose someone takes time out of their day to come in person and resolve a serious financial issue. In that case, the bank should be responsible for trying to help, or at the very least, handling the situation respectfully. Ramon’s response was dismissive and lacked any sense of accountability or customer service.
This is not how a reputable bank should treat its customers. I’m incredibly disappointed and will reconsider my relationship with Bank of America because of...
