Yeah, I know people are gonna say..."we're in the U.S., this is silicone valley" or "it's inflation, you idiot!" .....BUT THEY'RE SELLING FREAKING CROISSANTS!!!! Croissants and other bakery items ARE NOT supposed to cost more than a Mcdouble or a McChicken or a cold triangle sandwich at the 7-Eleven down the street.
PERIOD.
The core idea of boulangeries and patisseries is that every single item they produce and sell should cost almost nothing. People are supposed to pay no more than $20 for 5 croissants and 2 baguettes. That is the way it should be, but instead, people are ignorantly happy to pay close to or above $40 for them.
I hate bakers like them who overcharge their products because these are "exotic items from abroad, so let's slap a heavy price on them. The general population doesn't know our products are supposed to be cheap and will pay for them anyway." What's even worse are the sheeps flocking and believing these products are priced "right" and pay for them and show them off online like they're eating fancy jewelries. By doing so, they are encouraging the scamming bakers across the country to charge even more because all they need to do is bake something from another country and display it in a fancy box with fancy wrappers.
Let's not get things mixed up here. This is not a luxury perfume/purse boutique with expensive items. They're making the general public believe their products should be expensive and are "priced right" because they're "exotic and foreign" and everything is displayed in a fancy case but the truth is that none of these bakery items should cost the way they are priced. This is repulsive.
Can you imagine going to France and an idiot who makes decent/ok regular size donuts charges $8 for one? Because it is "foreign and exotic," and they're displayed in a fancy case and wrapped in fancy bags? What if one single average size cookie you found in a Baker's shop in France costs $7 but tastes exactly the same as a chips ahoy cookie from Walmart? Do you know where I'm getting to now?
Had these pastries taste better than the best ones in france, I would be completely understanding, but what they produce is nowhere near that level. It's just normal,...
Read moreWe have been here four times so far and enjoy the freshness of their pastries.
On our first visit, we ordered the pain chocolate and triple chocolate with double espresso and Americano. While the pastries were fresh, the chocolate filling was not generous.
On our second visit, we went for breakfast and ordered two plain croissants, two ham and cheese croissants, a double espresso, and an Americano - we had to ask for a new espresso because they served us a cold one. Take away Cube French Croissant Toast and Matcha Chocolat. Again, we enjoy the freshness of the pastries. However, we were pretty surprised by how sweet the ham and cheese were. The croissant seemed to have sweetness that we didn't expect from a savory pastry. Unfortunately, this was not much to our liking. As for the French toast, it was good, heavy but good. The Matcha chocolate, while the freshness of the pastry was there, lacked the flavour or kick from the Matcha.
On our third visit, we went again for breakfast, and this time, we ordered a farmer’s focaccia, pain chocolat, omelet, and bacon croissant set breakfast, along with double espresso and Americano. We enjoyed the farmer’s focaccia. We didn't enjoy the croissant omelet and bacon much. We thought the omelet and bacon flavoring was overpowering; we couldn't taste much of the croissant. I decided to eat everything separately.
And the fourth, for afternoon snacks, we ordered 1x plain croissant, white chocolate Matcha scone, pain au chocolat, double espresso, and Americano. Again, they served the espresso warm, not hot. Perhaps they have it ready on the side and can fill it into a cup according to the order. New one this time was the scone, I think from the two Matcha flavour pastries that I've ordered - they don't have much kick or strong flavour of the Matcha itself, nothing much, if not zero, not unless you do kind of look for the taste itself while chewing pastries. However, I enjoyed the Matcha Scone instead of the Matcha Chocolat.
Why three stars? Apart from the way they serve the double espresso, other pastries that not much of our liking. We believe the cashier and the staff handling the orders can be improved. They have so many staff around, but somehow, they're not operating efficiently and effectively. Everyone is busy doing something else, while they can attend to people’s orders instead. They only have one cashier, who tends to be the most reason for the long line apart from handling the orders.
And the ambience of the place itself—it doesn't feel very inviting for dining. It's always noisy, whether less crowded or crowded, and not very neat-looking/feeling when you enter...
Read moreI couldn’t believe how awful the owner’s attitude and mindset were.
The owner didn’t handle it fairly. I saw two groups came in, took a seat, and only one person ordered. If you want to carry out the policy, you should have someone there to guide customers.
*I was a regular customer. My family and I frequently visited, and I often met friends there. The owner never mentioned or force the policy about the tables before. The policy is not consistent. If you want to maintain this policy, you should have your employees consistently guide customers and block the tables. Otherwise, your policy seems ridiculous.
Your attitude and the way you speak show that you’re not acting like a professional.
3.I ordered the brunch menu, including a coffee, French toast, and a sandwich, but they didn’t come out , so I requested to cancel.
The order didn’t come out, and you didn’t cancel them, so I left your store. Since the order wasn’t fulfilled, Therefore, I shouldn’t have to pay for the charge. I don’t want to discuss this issue further with you. This experience has been extremely bad & horrible.
When I arrived at 8:20 a.m., there were already quite a few people inside. While I was placing my order, my husband and my son, who has a disability, sat down at a table. two couples came in, and while one of them placed an order, the others sat down at the table next to us. After I finished ordering, I returned to the table, and the owner came over and asked my husband and son to stand up and leave the table. He said that their policy requires customers to sit at tables only after they have placed their order. His tone was very rude, almost like a military order—never kind at all. His way of speaking made me so upset.
However, I noticed that the group of guys who came in before us and the group who came in after us were both allowed to sit down without any issues. If the owner is serious about applying this policy, he should have someone monitoring the tables to ensure it is applied fairly.
We had an appointment with the optometrist next door, so we couldn’t wait around. Since all the tables were occupied, I asked the owner to cancel my order. He refused, and he was incredibly stubborn and rude. I’ve never encountered an owner as ridiculous...
