My friend was traveling internationally for business. She had great difficulty finding Chinese food IN THE US. I remember SOS asking us where we prefer seating and I could not get a booth so I got seated at the bar. I'm there with my "date" and SOS immediately makes a problem for us. The waitress comes to the bar in less than 15 minutes and is ready for an order. I went ahead and ordered but she became very rude and unnerving when I wouldn't return the menus.
I ORDERED 3 TIMES THAT NIGHT AND YES I NEEDED THE MENU I'M AT THE BAR. WHEN I EAT SUSHI ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD THEY GIVE ME A PAPER WHERE I CAN EVEN PUT IN THE AMOUNT OF ROLLS.
THIS PLACE STARTED TREATING ME LIKE WE NEEDED TO PAY THEM.
MY FRIEND WAS VERY UPSET SHE WAS AWAY FROM HOME SO I WAS JOKING WITH HER THAT THE RESTRAUNT WILL PAY FOR HER FOOD SO GET WHATEVER SHE WANTS.
THE WAITRESS STARTED TAKING MY PLATES SO I GAVE HER CASH OUT OF MY POCKET TO SHUT HER UP. WE WEREN'T EVEN DONE EATING.
I MADE A POINT TO BE AS LOUD AS I COULD SAYING OH WOW YOU MEAN I HAD ENOUGH CASH TO ORDER THREE TIMES??
THEN I HAD TO ORDER AGAIN TO GO BECAUSE THE WAITRESS WAS SCREAMING AT ME THAT SHE NEEDED HER TIP.
I STARTED SCREAMING ON MY WAY OUT FROM THE RESTAURANT.
OUTSIDE I SCREAMED SO LOUD PEOPLE RAN OUT OF THE RESTAURANT TO BRING ME MY TO GO ORDER.
I EVEN TIPPED HER WHAT THE HELL DID I DO?
IF YOU WANT TO MAKE THIS PERSONAL I'LL COME RIGHT BACK THERE AND YOU CAN USE WHATEVER LANGUAGE YOU WANT AND I HAVE NO PROBLEM GETTING YOU A TIP IN YOUR WHEELCHAIR FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. I'VE NEVER BEEN SEATED AND TREATED LIKE THIS IN MY LIFE.
SOS IS A JOKE FOR A RESTAURANT. I TIPPED BECAUSE I UNDERSTAND I'M NOT WORTH YOUR "TIME" AND PER HOUR IS NO JOKE.
I EVEN HAVE A RECORD OF HOW LONG I SAT THERE AND WHERE WE...

Highly Recommend; -5pc Toro Sashimi Appetizer is amazing, just melts in your mouth! Wish they had a 15pc version of this on the menu
-15pc Sashimi Combo, we choose Hamachi, Tuna, Salmon, it's always fresh every single time
-Gourmet Combo, we choose the Black Cod & Beef=tastes so decadent and amazing
-Bentos; we choose Tonkatsu & Tempura (delicious, fried in new oil not old brown oil) + Hamachi sashimi=super fresh
-Rolls; Randy, Rocky, Spider Advising to AVOID; *Toro Kani as the toro under the balsamic glaze wasn't fresh at all *Any of the "Fire" rolls as they aren't tasty in the least, you just taste the spicy red sauce and that's it
This is our favorite sushi restaurant in Santa Clara. While a couple of rolls weren't satisfactory the rest of the menu we've had (been here at least 8x so far) were delicious so can't knock any stars off. Also sashimi in Hawaii is the best but for mainland this restaurant is still excellent unless you're in the mood to battle driving round trip to SF :/
Excellent staff and service and a clean, hygienic, nicely decorated restaurant.
They've changed owners almost 2 years ago so food and service are now exceptional, last owners and staff were...
Read moreNice mid-entry sushi with a good balance between casual and a slight step above.
Tried their sashimi combination (salmon, tuna, and hamachi), and also got a few ikura gunkan and hotate nigiri a la carte.
The sashimi itself was pretty much exactly as I expected and hoped. Nice thick slices with the marbly fat from the salmon melting in the mouth.
The tuna was a lean cut so there was not much fattiness, but the texture was very welcoming. The hamachi had almost the same consistency as filet mignon, and I considered another order of it.
The a la carte orders sadly had me wondering how fresh those selection were. There seemed to be an unusually strong lingering bitter aftertaste from the scallops. The ikura initially had the nice fresh briny beginning, but tapered off into a bitter finish. I ate half of the a la carte orders before a wave of nausea hit.
Aside from the a la carte, I skipped the rolls as I was more interested in just tasting the fish without any distractions.
I may just stick with the sashimi combination, as maybe hotate and ikura were not popular choices and may not be...
