Furniture Discounters — Local services in Santa Clara

Very large + well-ventilated space (which is reassuring re: COVID) -- the warehouse is connected to the showrooms. Staff prefers to let you walk around without interrupting you with sales pitches, and they are nearby/ professional/ attentive/ helpful if you flag someone down. Ex. by the time we asked staff to show us some options, they had a good idea of what we were looking for based on the items we were spending time on + were able to quickly and efficiently point out all the related items w/ similar functionality on the floor, which was surprising & nice. Anthony is knowledgeable about what is in stock and what isn't as well as how supply chains will affect their stock, which is helpful. When we asked to see a model in a different color, Anthony actually walked us to the back to show us the one they had in stock. They also provided some opinions re: what pieces they thought would fit together well in a space.

Selection included sofas, coffee/ end/ dinner tables, beds/ bunk beds, dining tables/chairs, some pillows, and so on. Quality seems pretty good too. Note that COVID has slowed down many supply chains -- apparently some models are taking 2+ months to manufacture + ship.

Prices seemed reasonable -- for example, one of the sofas was only $2.5k here, whereas we'd seen the same model listed at $3.5k at a different store just that day (!).

FYI, there is a no-picture policy here -- many signs all around the floor, but somehow my partner and I missed them. Staff will briefly remind you of the policy if you forget. This seems to be standard at a number of furniture stores.

Fantastic experience here!! Anthony is such a gem, and he provided excellent customer service both times my partner and I visited. Anthony is super nice, very knowledgeable, and not pushy at all. We came in one weekend after an already exhausting search for a new couch and dining table. Anthony greeted us, let us look around for a bit, and then once he saw we had a few choices in mind, came around to answer all of our questions and also educate us on the different fabric types, quality of furniture, etc. He was very professional, but also so friendly and welcoming.

We ended up leaving, going to about 5 additional furniture stores, only to come back the following day to close the deal on a couch and dining table that we really loved. Delivery and set-up were free, and our final price for the dining table and couch was absolutely unmatchable anywhere else. It's been 4 days since we've had our furniture, and we are beyond happy. I was first discouraged by the negative reviews for this place but my experience with Furniture Discounters was very positive. My partner and I went to many chain furniture stores (Ashley, Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, IKEA, and World Market), before Furniture Discounters. We found quality and design in the same place at this store. Anthony was great! He gave us all the information we needed and the space to decide without any pressure. He was very responsive and helpful during the time we were waiting for our new furniture. The furniture was delivered on time and the crew were wonderful! I love the smell of our leather couch and the chairs are soft and comfortable. The quality of craftsmanship is up to my standards. I even checked the couch and it’s made with real wood, not particle board, as promised. I cannot speak to the longevity of the product yet but hoping they last a lifetime.
