For starters this business is cash only. they do have an atm inside of the location but charges a heavy tax to withdraw $ which will be a reoccurring theme here.
From my experience there is two employees who work the market. A middle age man and a senior woman.
Take my advice, if the woman is at the register turn around and go to the corner store up the street. This lady has a long wrap sheet of accusing customers of stealing, overcharging items and giving back incorrect change amounts.
On one occurrence a coworker of mine went inside this establishment to heat a cup of coffee he brought from home and to buy a Ramon noodle soup. The elderly lady yelled at him for taking to long while using their microwave even though he was a paying customer.
On a personal occurrence, I went in one day on a lunch break and picked up multiple items. My total was roughly $15, I paid with a $20. After being charged at the register the elderly lady gave me back a dollar and some change. I mentioned to her I paid with a $20 and wanted my correct amount of change back which she replied " I need to look at the cameras" I chuckled because of how ridiculous that sounded but regardless waited patently. I ended up getting my change back but it definitely left a sour taste.
This establishment OVER charges for their items like no tomorrow. You could say its do to the location by the boardwalk but regardless of that paying $4.50 before tax for a drink that would be $2 a few blocks away at a 7/11 is questionable.
Last but not least, the man who works there. I personally have never had ANY bad experience with this guy. Hes always been kind and helpful. I truly believe in order for this business to succeed he should be the face of the business.
In summary: if the lady is working, walk way. If the man is working you'll be okay. High pricing otherwise it's okay if that's your...
Read morei live in the neighborhood and have occasionally stopped in for small items like water or energy drinks. they have a really poor selection, sell the same items from dollar tree for $4+, and are generally kinda dirty (which I have looked past before) but everytime i go in there i am racially profiled and followed around and treated very poorly. i always pay for my items and act very kindly, but today I walked in and realized they didnât have what i was looking for so i left without getting anything. the cashier yelled at me and called me back into the store, to which i explained i left empty handed. she was so incredibly rude and dismissive when i tried to explain myself. itâs unfortunate being a local who lives so close to this store who likes to support small businesses to be treated like a criminal simply for wanting water and caffeine. i suggest you walk down the street to beach market instead they have a wayyyy bigger selection and are a lot nicer...

The store has a poor selection of products and is generally unclean. Just look at the pictures in google.
Prices listed on shelves do not reflect price of items. Price listed on a drink was 3.25, but there's a tiny sticker hidden on the item that says 3.85, Cashier charged 4.50 CASH for the item.
Example: 3.85 * 1.095 + .05 = 4.27$ Item cost * santacruz tax + crv for item under 24oz.
I brought this up with the cashier, and she refused to charge the correct amount for the item.
No receipt given, so you decide if they actually are paying that tax or if they are just pocketing the extra money.
If you're going to rip your customers off, at least use that money to make your store not look so...
