Only three stars because of the vagrants that lurk along its borders. They have never bothered us, b u t one morning we arrived early to play with our dogs in the off leash area and were advised that the park service is quick to scour the bathroom for discarded needles and other drug use trash as soon as possible every morning. Once we observed a drug deal go down on the path along the childs play area. Three stars instead of one because in spite of the blight, it’s a clean, well maintained park at the end of a lovely residential street lined with Victrian homes with a great playground, large slides, and a small grassy dog park with views of the San Lorenzo River, the Boardwalk, and the Monterey Bay. Some Sundays there's a group of friends who play Irish folk music on traditional instruments. It's tucked in the corner of the Seabright neighborhood and isn't well known by those who aren't local. A few of the usual weirdos lingering, but far, far fewer of them than most other places (I've yet to determine if I'm considered one of them when I'm observed there by others). And the Magic Unicorn of neighborhood parks: a relatively clean and occasionally open pair of restrooms. There's rumored to be buried treasure and a leprechaun both residing somewhere on the premises. ...

Be careful on the trail on the far end of the dog park that goes around it down to San Lorenzo side, found transient litter, including but not limited to drug paraphernalia, & pins from clothing security sensors. Someone from the city is out to clean the park every morning, or I am sure it would be alot worse, being close to the levee and all.
