El Hermoso Mar — Restaurant in Santa Cruz

The only things good were the fries, the burger, and the beans. I can say that confidently, because I had a party of 6 adults, 2 kids, and 1 baby--I did their ordering because only I knew what dish names were. Almost half the dishes ordered were misses because the food was either too tough, no flavor, dry, or too salty. What really made the experience worse were two things: 1) I ordered for guacamole on the burrito--it was the thinnest spread I've ever seen. 2) I clearly had a large party. I should've been given 2 complimentary nacho dips, not one. And not given a look as if I was greedy. This really left a bad taste when I saw another party, same size, automatically given two.

That said--good beans and burger. Save yourself the trip if you want to just eat something to save money. You're more than likely to save money by just going into the food stalls at...

Victor is AWESOME! Came in for lunch after a morning at the boardwalk and Victor was there to help! He pointed out a few things we might like, gave us great options for the kids. And let us know where we could get some great seats on the boardwalk to eat, since we were going back over and taking our food to go. I would go in again just for how nice he was!

But the staff isn’t the only plus. The food was really good, nothing fancy just NORMAL food, like Mom would make. I got a veggie fajita burrito, with chips and guacamole. My kids shared a fully loaded taco salad and my husband got a fish burrito and chips and salsa ! I think all of it only came to 35.00

The staff interaction was highly uncomfortable. The food seem like it was prepackaged. My friend had a quesadilla and it was extremely greasy to the point where the entire plate was puddled in it... The food looked like it was completely slapped together with no effort to make a good presentation. The service was horrible and the staff didn't even check up on us like most restaurants should. To anybody wanting actual authentic Mexican food go somewhere else. I do not look for negative things but this place was so bad. I wouldn't even call it a restaurant it's more fast food...
