Wasn’t sure what yarn I bought so they tried to look me up in their computer but I wasn’t in it because I was never offered to be in it. So I bought the one I thought it was, shortly before closing. The woman working and I had a discussion about how I wasn’t sure which one was the same weight as the one I had at home and how I would just choose the best I could with no for-warning that there was no returns, exchanges and no mercy. I went back shortly after they opened the next day to buy the right size to finish my project and was rather curtly, informed of their no returns, no exchanges policy… even though I was there the evening before. I mean I get it but the whole thing was handled so poorly. I repurchased the one I need to finish my project but overall left a very sour and bitter taste about how I feel about this place.
I did go in a couple weeks later (today) and asked for some help on a project and received some help, so that was cool.
I just feel like the woman who knew I wasn’t sure on the size of yarn I was buying should have told me! I also feel like to keep me as a customer it would have made sense to tell me that they don’t usually do returns or exchanges but they understand the circumstances and since I bought the yarn 16 hours ago that they understand. It felt cold, impersonal and corporate.
I tried with another employee and received the same impersonal spiel about the return policy and now I’m stuck with this $40 thing of yarn and don’t want to go back there.
When you buy something right before a store closes and return it right when they open the next day- why wouldn’t they be more...
Read moreThis is a pretty shop with lots of natural light and an airy open feel. It carries a limited selection of expensive yarns. On my recent visit the amount of yarn on the shelves was strikingly small. Even the knitting accessories area was bare. And the 'everything is a final sale' policy doesn't help the situation. Maybe they are having inventory issues?
I have intermittently visited this shop for many years. It has gone through several owners, and I have never felt particularly welcomed. Although the staff is knowledgeable and will answer knitting questions the vibe is still unwelcoming. Being the only customer on my latest visit the lady behind the counter did the bare minimum of a hello and that was it. Perhaps it's because the actual staff never changes, just the owners?
Parking in the area is always challenging due to permit only parking around the store. It has no parking area of its own. Trying to find metered parking is unpleasant.
The one redeeming quality that made a visit worthwhile, was the quantity of beautiful yarn they used to stock. That is not the case anymore. As a result for me, this...
Read moreNice pricer end of yarn selection Nice environment But the service is awful I would give negative point if I had the choice !!
Did not offer to wind the yarn I purchased into a ball ( or maybe It's on customer's request ) .. My first time to get twisted yarn so I am not aware of this step .. I ended up making a mess when I tried to unpack the yarn .
Did not give warning upon purchase that no item can be returned . When I went to make a return she ( one of the staff in a darker skin tone ) gave me a straight non friendly "NO" and claimed that it says in the receipt ..... I just don't think it's fair , because it means customers will not know about no-return Policy unless they have made the purchase and " happen to " read that info from the receipt . There is no sign at cashier either . I am not happy with the staff and service .. elegant store but low end service ,...
