Santa Monica Mexican spot with variety of solid Mexican options. They are still operating during covid for takeout (we called in the order and it was ready in 10 minutes). They do accept credit cards and there is dining tables (pre-covid). Parking is metered street parking. On our most recent visit, we split carne asada nachos and got some tacos. The carne asada was juicy and flavorful but towards the bottom of the nachos, there was just a ton of refried beans. The chorizo and cheese taco is absolutely delicious, and their fish taco is also really good.
The only reason why this isn’t a 5 is because large group ordering (pre-covid) is disorganized. I placed an order online for an office lunch and the workers didn’t look past the first page, so there were a about 12 orders that were still unfulfilled. They did deliver the food free of charge to the office in Santa Monica but there was definitely some hangriness involved.
Overall, it’s a reasonably priced spot on the West Side to grub and besides, who can ever say...
Read moreWe tried this spot out based on the recommendation of the staff at my wifes' doctors office. It was ok. We got here before the lunch rush so I found a metered parking spot in front on the street. The young lady helping us was very nice and helpful. We ordered the Carnitas plates with rice and beans. Chips and salsa, and a Carne Asada Sope. The Carnitas were okay not greasy, they were warm, okay. Rice and beans were on point. Guacamole on point. Chips were okay. A little greasy and missing something for my liking. Kinda stale. Honestly in my opinion it was okay. Not the worst but it didn't wow either one of us. I don't think we'll be back even though the young lady recommended the hard shelled tacos and the bacon breakfast burrito, just throwing that out there for some other brave soul. The red salsa was on another level and the flour tortillas were on point I will say that. The place is huge inside and clean. It's older. It was ok. I don't think we're...
Read moreI was on vacation from Colorado, and have had a lot of Chile rellenos, and cheese enchiladas. This place blows anything I have had before out of the water. Colorado's Mexican food, has nothing on this place. The cheese in the enchiladas were fully melted, the red sauce was very flavorful but not too spicy even had a tiny hint of sweetness to it which only added to the amazing flavors. The Chile relleno was cooked just right, it wasn't soggy, or too dry also the cheese was fully melted as well. The tortilla chips they gave me were very fresh and crisp, and went great with cleaning up any extra red sauce on my plate. The service was great everyone was friendly and they got the food out very fast. I already know I'm going to be thinking about this place once I go back to Colorado and how much better it is then the food I'll have access to. I wish I could take this place back with me so I could eat it...
