Let’s talk about Kohl’s for a moment. I ordered a few things for a bedding set from Kohls to be delivered from Instacart. The items were all unavailable except for one pillow. Because the set was unavailable I didn’t need the pillow.
This is where things get tricky. Follow me if you will.
I tried to return the pillow at Kohl’s using the only receipt that is provided to me by instacart. The Customer Service staff at Kohl’s wasn’t sure how to do the return so she called the manager. The manager tried to sort things out over the phone and the two of them argued. Then the manager came to the customer service desk and told me that she couldn’t do the return without the receipt. I showed her the receipt that instacart provided by email and on their app. She said it wouldn’t work…
So, let’s camp here for a minute… Why would Kohl’s team up with Instacart if this process wasn’t sorted out? Or was this just a terrible manager?
Moving forward. I told her that I was okay with a store credit. She told me that even though I bought the pillow the day before she would have to give me the lowest price for it which was half of what I paid. Again, I showed her my receipt. I paid full price yesterday. I was within their return window. They were violating their own return policy. She didn’t care. She said I was without options.
I didn’t do the return.
I went outside and called customer service. I talked to a a representative. She explained that I should be able to do the return at the store and advised I try. I explained for the 500th time I already tried. She said I should talk to the manager. I explained 200 times I already had and that is why I was calling. She told me that I should be able to do the return in the store. I asked if she would tell that to the manager. She told me that I should tell her that myself. I explained that I had to wait in line the first time for 20 minutes and if I wait for another 20 just to threaten the difficult manager and she still says no, I was going to be very upset.
I decided not to to talk to difficult manager again.
Instead I called Instacart and talked to a dream boat of a customer service representative. He was funny, kind, a delight. He refunded my money and told me I could keep the pillow as a reminder of the day and my feelings about Kohl’s.
I hate that pillow…
Edit: Kohl’s responded to this review and literally verified that the issue I had is, in fact, an internal issue that they cannot resolve. Don’t shop there on instacart because you cannot...
Read moreIf I could rate this store in the negative I would. Recently I received an email for a sale with a "scratch off" for the surprise sale amount. My email contained a 40% off coupon. I recently lost over 50lbs and am going on vacation and needed some new clothes. I was ready to buy alot. I spent over an hour in the store picking out outfits but I needed to try on multipe sizes. But all the dressing rooms were closed. I found 2 associates standing around chatting and asked if any dressing rooms were open. They said they couldn't handle all the people that showed up for the sale, closed the dressing rooms to man cash registers due to long lines. I pointed to the cash registers and stated there was now no line. They said they couldn't open the dressing rooms because they were messy. Remember, these 2 associates were standing there chatting when I walked up. I told them I had to try on clothes, they said they have a 60 day return policy. I drove 20 min 1 direection to go to this store. so then I asked if they would extend my coupon - it was the last day of the sale. they said no. I handed them my overflowing basket and walked out. I will not be back nor will I shop at any Kohl's again due to this poor customer service. There was no notice of the dressing rooms being closed until you went to the dressing room to try on the clothes. Complete waste of 3 hours...
Read moreKohl’s is the best place to shop for ALL things clothes and even small appliances and housewares. If I could afford it, I would shop there every day. I even took a friend, who is recent relocation from a northern state. She wanted new yoga pants. She is a very small stature and she found two pairs, one a girls size 14-16, (they fit) and another regular size ladies small. It was amazing, that they both fit. Then because they both were the same brand “You Fit” and the sale of the day was “buy one, get the second one 1/2 off” for that “You Fit” brand. She was thrilled!! Instead of spending $64.00 it was $51.00. She was so excited! I gave myself a pat on the back for choosing Kohl’s. Not only that but, the customer service by associates was more than exemplary. They walked us through all the sizing and colors this lady was looking for. I don’t understand why shopping on line is such a big deal that everyone is doing it. The human contact and personalized service and trying clothes on for a proper fit is beyond a satisfying experience. This lady’s small stature could not be matched by looking at pictures on a computer. I can’t understand what all the excitement is, about buying online. Go to Kohl’s for clothes shopping because it’s...
