Went to lwr cinemas tonight 12/27/17 to see Starwars. Air conditioning has been out all day but the ticket seller told us that the movie would only be sold to half capacity for the 7pm show. This was a total lie. It was shown in the smallest theater, on the smallest screen and there were at least 80 people there. So many that when a couple came in 15 minutes after the start, they couldn't find seats. The tickets were the regular price, the refreshments were the same price, but instead of watching a movie in comfort, as the end of the previews claims that we as moviegoers should expect and they are dedicated to giving us, we were not in comfort at all. It was easily 80 degrees in that room and the only moving air was if someone walked in front of you. I spoke to a 20 something red headed man as I left and explained that if you want movie goers to pay for these tickets, you need to halve the ticket price or give free concessions. He could not respond because the owner (whoever makes those choices ) is on vacation. But somehow I feel that it was the owner who decided that opening up without air conditioning was also ok. He's not here. Not his problem. I think that anyone who went to a movie on 12/27/17 should be automatically refunded because spending hours in a hot, uncomfortable theater is not entertainment. I left the Starwars show at 10pm (long movie, hot room) and spoke to the young red headed man in charge on my way out. I made my suggestions, but of course he's not really in charge and his boss is out of town. I am sure that the guy was never prepared for this type of incident. I have been calling the box office on the phone for the last 40 minutes and still going to let this guy know that this is really unacceptable and that he needs to speak with his boss, but literally no one will answer the phone. The air conditioning is expected to be broken down for the 10 days. AndI can only imagine that any movies showing here will be equally hot and stuffy. Starwars was great, but see it somewhere else. The phone has been ringing for 49 minutes now. No answer No way to...
Read moreA group of 40 middle/high schoolers came in prior to the movie starting and asked everyone to move 3 rows down for them. This girl literally went “okay guys raise your hand if you’ll move”. Like girl please you are not the princess of the movie theater how entitled do you have to be. We of course all said no, and so they all proceeded to sit in the front 3 rows and talk, scream, and sit on their phones the entire time. 6 different people go up to complain to staff, and the kids were asked to leave multiple times and they refused. A few were kicked out and just walked back in 5 minutes later. Additionally, they kept getting up in groups of 3-4 every 2 minutes to go to outside and just come back in. Again these kids are sitting in the front rows, so everyone is just fed up. Like these kids were literally running in and out to grab their backpacks the entire movie like they were on a field trip. Mind you this was a rated R movie and these kids could not have been older than 15. People were yelling at them to shut up the whole movie and they would just bust out laughing. Staff should have kicked them out at the start when the first complaint happened, but instead they just kept giving them warnings. The situation was handled so poorly. This was by far the worst movie experience of my life, I felt like I was on an episode of what...
Read moreMy wife and I love this theater. It has a feel of a hometown theater with small screens so, you feel like you're watching a movie with friends. One thing to keep in mind about this theater is that there are 6 screens. Movies in 1 through 4 are the movies that are not usually that great and draw small crowds. Theaters 5 and 6 are huge theaters and can sit hundreds of people so, look at your ticket, and if you're in theater 1 through 4 you know you are in for a lesser movie, if you're in five or six you know you're seeing a Blockbuster! They don't put poor performing movies in the big theaters! This is important because you want to get to the smaller screens earlier than the big screens because it fills up faster. Small screens only sit 75 people and 30 or so seats are within 15 of the screen. This theater is located with plenty of restaurants around so you'll have a choice of all kinds of cuisine that would suit anyone. Go to this theater, it's like old-time America, it's what America was like many years ago!...
