I hate to be the writer of a bad review, however it is important that, with so many choices for dining out (including Peruvian cuisine), regardless of how good the food is, a restaurant cannot avoid reviews like this with sub-par service. I was the first customer in when the doors opened for lunch, and was waiting for a friend to join me. It was no big deal that there was no roasted chicken available, so I ordered the No. 3, with grilled chicken, rice & chicken soup. The young woman brought my food out before my friend had even ordered. He ordered. The chicken was like jerky-dry & tasteless. The soup was lukewarm, as was the rice. I mentioned to the lone server that the food was disappointing and that I would order something else from the menu. She sincerely apologized and took my order-Peruvian noodles with beef. The restaurant was full by now. Fifty minutes later and no meal but the server promising me food soon. I walked to the counter and told her to forget it. My friend left cash on the table and we left. I called the owner to share my experience and he told me the cook was in the hospital and the main server was out. I told him I understood and that things happen. I told him he could change my opinion by hosting me as his guest to hit the reset button. He simply repeated his excuses and finally said “I’m so sorry,my friend”. I said goodbye and chose to not only write this poor review, I’ve made the choice to not visit this establishment again. I’ll end as I began, in a community with so many choices of places to spend money on dining out, this is not one I would recommend...ever, good authentic food or not. Service is hugely important in a restaurant and the acronym for TIP is “to insure promptness”. Neither of those were present today. I wish them no harm, and only wish them well, however, if they wish to stay open in the long run, they’re going to have to avoid negative reviews like these and...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences I've had while eating out, today Sunday May 6th went to this restaurant to eat for the first time since we are new to this city. My fiance my 3 yr old daughter and my self ordered an appetizer called anticuchos , my fiance ordered a Ceviche and I ordered a Lomo Saltado, after sitting there for 30 minutes they brought out her plate alone before the appetizer , which it was no biggie at that moment, it took her about 20 minutes to finish her plate and still no appetizer or no food for myself , we asked the waiter to please bring us more canchita which is a corn Peruvian restaurants serve as a complimentary dish as in chips in a Mexican restaurant. The waiter told us the first one was complimentary but if me and my daughter wanted more they were going to charge us for it. My fiance finished her ceviche while my daughter and myself set there watching her eat for 20 minutes and still no appetizer or a meal for me and my little one. Finally after 30 minutes came the appetizer, we set there for another 20 minutes after the we finished eating the appetizer and still no meal for me and my daughter , finally I asked to a lady which seemed to be the owner how long for my meal to be ready , all while I've noticed a couple of guys come in 20 minutes after we got there order food left with their stuff happily. Advised her that it was rude in my country to bring someone in a table their plate before the other people sitting in it. She told me very rude that is not the case in her country and it is different every where. To which I told her to cancel the food I ordered and to bring me the check , she was then even more rude and told me that was fine and she will enjoy eating my food. Worst customer service I've ever had and coming from the owner that is even more sad , what kind of example you are giving to your employees? Never again will I expend a dollar at this place or advice...
Read moreA good friend of mine recommended Inkawasi and I was really excited to try it out I always trust their taste so I had high hopes going in
Right away the experience started off on a positive note The staff was incredibly kind and attentive From the moment we walked in we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for The service alone made the visit feel special and it’s something I truly appreciated
When it came to the food I’ll be honest it was just okay Not terrible not amazing just somewhere in between I didn’t leave unhappy but I also didn’t feel that spark that sometimes happens when you discover a new favorite spot That being said I also understand that one visit doesn’t always tell the full story
There were a lot of other dishes on the menu that looked really interesting and I’m definitely open to going back and giving it another shot It might be that I didn’t order the right thing for my taste this time around or that the true gems of the menu are still waiting for me to discover them I’ve been to enough restaurants to know that sometimes you just have to find the dish that really brings out what the kitchen does best
One thing that stuck with me though was the care and warmth of the team working there That kind of hospitality goes a long way and it’s one of the reasons I want to return I’ll probably ask for some recommendations next time and try something new
Overall I’m glad I went and I’m even more glad I listened to my friend’s recommendation Even if this first visit didn’t blow me away it left me with a good feeling and a genuine interest in coming back I’ll happily update this review if next time hits the mark which I have a good...
