Writing this review after visiting Grove on several occasions. First off, the 4 stars are for quality of food and drinks, atmosphere and service at the bar. We were impressed with the happy hour menu and availability of craft cocktails. The food is amazing. Fantastic steak and the blackened salmon is a must! The decor is stunning and the layout is very well done with adequate noise control. The attention to detail put into designing and decorating the space is very clear! Fantastic job on the bar location and design! When we sat at the bar, the bartenders both times were amazing. They were attentive and personable and made our experience more enjoyable. When we made reservations for dinner however, it felt like we were at a different restaurant. The three hostesses obviously did not have control of the check-in and seating process. They were not welcoming and we found it difficult to get their attention to let them know we were there for our reservation. Once we were seated, poor service continued. We sat for 10-15 minutes before our waiter even came to introduce himself. We put in drink and appetizer orders and had drinks fairly quickly, but appetizers didn't come out for another 30 minutes. By that time we had finished our drinks, but still had not seen our waiter since putting in our order. It wasn't until the manager came by and got our 2nd drink order that the service changed a little. Our waiter did not tell us of any specials, nor when asked, could he tell us about the desert menu or the ice cream of the day. After dinner, we went back to the bar and again, it was like stepping into a different restaurant. Superb service. Overall, there is some work to be done on the service side of the restaurant portion. Until more experienced and better quality service is in place, I would recommend staying in the bar/patio area.

Pleasant ambiance in a classy dining room. Be warned, in-room lighting is a bit low (great for a romantic evening, IMHO). We opted to order a selection of appetizers: beef tartare, ahi poke, calamari, pork-belly "bacon", and pot-roast poutine. Other menu options were similar to the restaurateur's other place I'm familiar with, Pier 22. The beef tartare was flavorful and tender, finely minced rather than ground or chopped into a near-paste. The ahi poke was delicious, but not better than others I've had (sadly, Roy's left Sarasota a few years back, and it was one of my favorites!). The calamari were tasty and tender (not chewy at all). For the heavier dishes, the pot-roast poutine was wonderful, with a flavorful gravy and bits of meat (brisket?) mixed in with the semi-soft, semi-crispy fries. I didn't see any cheese curds, but it's more of a riff on the idea of poutine than a proper classic poutine, and doesn't suffer for it as long as you're alright with the liberty. Finally, the pork-belly bacon was fantastic. I don't exaggerate to say it's one of my favorite dishes I've had anywhere, at any time. The belly is cooked tender in thick slices (around 1/3 or 1/2"), and crisped on both sides, plated with some barbecue sauce. I'm not a fan of fatty pieces of meat, but the fat was melting, the meat tender, and the overall dish absolutely outstanding. A must-try! Our server was thoughtful, and arranged our appetizers to be brought out in an order than ensured we'd get the best out of them (cold and and blander first, hot, rich, and flavorful later). We left full and satisfied, and I can't wait to take my friends and family there as an excuse to enjoy some of their delicacies again!

We visited to celebrate my mother’s birthday, not realizing our reservation coincided with the Kentucky Derby event. Unfortunately, the crowd and noise significantly impacted the overall dining experience. While we understand the added pressure of a big event, it still left a lot to be desired. The place was extremely busy and quite loud, but to their credit, the kitchen managed to get our food out in a timely manner. The extensive drink menu was a plus, and the food was decent bar fare. The pepperoni pizza and blackened grouper sandwich were solid choices. Our server was clearly new and brought in to help with the large crowd. He was pleasant enough and got our orders correct, but lacked knowledge about the menu—even basic things like the soup of the day—and made no effort to find out. Service was minimal and he did his job but lacks enthusiasm. We tried a variety of dishes. The mussels were disappointing, with the wine overpowering any other flavors. The seafood Cobb salad was a pleasant surprise—fresh, generously portioned, and easily enough for three people. Unfortunately, the blackened grouper entrée was bland and served with overcooked broccolini. The fish and chips also suffered from being overcooked. As for the Thai beef stir-fry special, it didn’t live up to its name and felt out of place on the menu—something we wouldn’t recommend ordering at a bar-level restaurant. In summary, while the kitchen’s speed and a few decent menu items were bright spots, the overwhelming atmosphere, inexperienced service, and inconsistent food quality made this a less-than-ideal spot for a special occasion. Perhaps on a regular night, the experience might be better.

The Grove in Downtown Lakewood Ranch is a delightful fusion of culinary and the charming essence of this vibrant community. As both a local food enthusiast and a realtor deeply embedded in this area, I find myself drawn to The Grove time and again.

Let's begin with the culinary aspect, Their commitment to using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients sets the stage for a dining experience.

As a foodie, I've had the privilege of indulging in a variety of their offerings. Their Gulf Coast Shrimp appetizer is a perfect opener, a tantalizing blend of succulent shrimp, herbs, and spices. Moving on to the mains, the Blackened Grouper stands out as a personal favorite. The perfectly seared grouper, accompanied by a medley of fresh vegetables and a hint of spice, is an embodiment of culinary excellence.

Beyond the food itself, The Grove adds a unique layer to the community. This is where my perspective as a realtor comes into play. The outdoor patio area, bathed in the warm Florida sun, serves as a perfect backdrop for an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're gathering with friends, hosting a business lunch, or simply enjoying a solo meal, this space caters to every occasion. As a realtor, I appreciate how The Grove has become an integral part of Lakewood Ranch's social fabric, frequently hosting events that bring the community together.

From a real estate standpoint, The Grove plays an unexpected but invaluable role. It has become a conversation starter among prospective buyers, showcasing the dynamic lifestyle opportunities that Lakewood Ranch offers. The presence of a high-quality dining establishment like The Grove not only enhances the appeal of the immediate area but also reflects the overall growth and development of Lakewood Ranch as a desirable place to live and invest.

In summation, The Grove in Downtown Lakewood Ranch is not merely a restaurant; it's a culinary and communal treasure. Its unwavering dedication to culinary excellence, inviting ambiance, and its role as a focal point for the community make it a destination worth experiencing. I recommend The Grove to anyone seeking the best of what Lakewood Ranch has to offer. Whether you're savoring a gourmet meal or exploring the local real estate market, The Grove is an essential stop that encapsulates the heart and soul of this...

Yesterday, 9/20/2022, I attended a neighborhood sponsored "ladies luncheon" at The Grove in Lakewood Ranch, FL. I was excited that it was being held at the Grove because I have never been there and had been wanting to go for a while.

I love the sister restaurant, Pier 22, and usually go there because it is simply closer to my home.

The Grove is very nice and did not disappoint. I like the way it is decorated. There were 45 of us in our group, which I am sure was a challenge for the restaurant. But the staff did a nice job handling our crowd. Our waiters were super nice and friendly. The Grove staff did not make us feel rushed. We sat and chatted and enjoyed ourselves for quite a while.

The food I ordered was delicious! I started with a side caesar salad. It was very good. The salad dressing was the perfect consistency - not too thin and not too thick. It was creamy and a delicious flavor. Just the slightest hint of sweetness. So good! The romaine was super fresh and obviously did not come out of a bag. Plus they didn't serve the real dark part of the romaine, which I was happy about. The croutons were amazing. I usually don't even bother eating croutons on salads. But these croutons were light, crispy and perfectly seasoned. I learned that they are made in-house.

For my entrée, I had the fish and chips, which were delicious and I would highly recommend that menu item. The quantity was more than I could eat, so I brought the rest home. The batter on the fish was delicately crispy and delicious. The cod fish was obviously fresh and there was a generous amount of it. Nice white, flaky, scrumptious fish. The tartar sauce, which I learned is also made in-house, was the best I've ever had.

One of the ladies in our group had a menu item that included the Grove's homemade potato chips. Oh my gosh were they delicious! They are light and crispy and so good. I think they should bag their homemade chips and sell them - that's how good I think they are. : )

Everyone else seemed to enjoy what they had ordered as well. I can't wait to go back and try something else from the menu. ...

We hosted a 70th birthday celebration this weekend, and chose the Grove Restaurant in Lakewood Ranch as the venue.

From our initial interaction with the sales rep Nicole through ensuring the final details the day before the event, she did a stellar job! Everything was professional, seamless and easy. We were away from the area during the planning process, so everything was done remotely. Nicole also worked with us the week before the event to implement some surprise special touches in the Cedar Room. What we planned, and were promised was delivered! Nicole’s thorough planning paid off as the entire team succeeded through implementation. Way to go!

On the day of the event, Beth and Kandice did a fabulous job! Beth took charge from the beginning. She made sure that my husband and I felt very special as hosts. She and Kandice supported us thoroughly on the day of the event from the set-up process till the last guest left. We were consulted many times during the 3-hour event as to our wishes for timing of next steps/food delivery, etc. Guests were greeted, and offered a drink as soon as they arrived – and they were served quickly. The meals all arrived at the same time – and yes, they were all delicious! Lots of rave reviews from the guests. The in-house cake was beautiful and delectable! We knew that the party was a success, as no one wanted to leave. The details were not lost on us, including a welcome sign for our guests at the Grove entrance as to our event and location. Everyone we interacted with during the entire process was knowledgeable, thorough and professional.

As a Lakewood Ranch resident, we dine at the Grove often, but this is the first time that we have hosted an event there. We were very impressed – from our first interaction with Nicole to the moment we left the Grove after the event! Grove staff made the event very special and memorable! Our guests (all Lakewood Ranch area residents) felt the same way – and some mentioned the Grove as a potential venue going forward for their events. Do yourself a favor, and give them a try for your next event! You won’t be...
