Asbury Memorial Church — Local services in Savannah

First of all, I am very skeptical of reviews that claim anything is across the board phenomenal as the reviews about this church seem to be. We joined after attending numerous online services and being impressed with the quality and substance of the pastor's sermons. This was a mistake. Throughout 2020 we found the communication from several key church leaders was not only unremarkable, but non-existent. Our efforts to become involved in several areas of the church's programming and services was met with "lukewarm" acceptance or ignored entirely. Not one of them asked why we left or apologized for any misunderstanding. While it purports to be a "progressive" and "inclusive" congregation, I found it to be as politically one-sided and superficially welcoming, as other more traditional religious institutions are. Who needs that in a church? You can find the same sense of "community" in business and secular social relationships...

A loving, open and accepting Church that includes all of us — as Jesus would — with love, without judgment. Great for kids, youth, adults and seniors, with opportunities for all to serve. This place has the true presence of God and an amazing community that truly is Christ-like. Love the atmosphere that is a modern yet a more classic presence. The Choir has a voice that makes the ground tremble, but is soothing and Pastor Billy is passionate and shows that the world is a loving place even in times of darkness.
