Waters Cafe — Restaurant in Savannah

Loved this place at first.. recently have been experiencing subpar service and inconveniences multiple times. I told myself I wouldn't come back due to visible stress on the workers face & early closure that you either have to have social media for or pull up to notes on the door. Maybe it's the conditions they are working under( hot, understaffed etc) Either way, I went against my word & ordered the Albert as always via phone call this time. Upon arrival & awaiting in line- when I go to pay cashier looked confused & went to the cook - who then said "they were out of the vegan meat" and stated they "tried to call back" which absolutely was a lie I had no missed calls & also checked infront of the cashier to ensure I didn't miss the call because yeah of course I'd like to make the 20 minute drive over for you to tell me it's unavailable by missing said phone call. Absolutely sold on not coming back. I'm super understanding but to come into a place and spend my hard earn money & not have the order correct multiple times & then turn around and not have the order completely is enough for me to stop supporting ✨ May this message reach ownership with understanding & lite energy. We sat at a table by the front door, enjoying our food. An employee came from the kitchen dragging 2 giant trash bags out the front entrance, (1 bag was streaming yellow goo on the floor) . This slime stuff was puddling on the doormats, & new customers were stepping in it on their way in. This was disgusting to see while we’re trying to eat food( the slime was 1 foot away from our table.) After 5 minutes with no clean up, I asked the guy at cash register to please clean it up, it was disgusting &’people kept stepping in it…he said “ I’m doing the best I can.” After a few more minutes he mopped up half of the liquid & left the rest. What an unsanitary situation in a nice restaurant…I would think the back door would be used for dripping trash. Can’t imagine this would pass a restaurant inspection...

I love this shop, and would love to give them 5 stars, but can’t because I am not sure who this shop is catered to? It’s a cafe/coffee shop but doesn’t open before a “standard work day”? I do have a small suggestion in regards to the hours. I want to support small business, but not opening until 8 (which is surprisingly earlier than most other small business coffee shops in the area) really drives me to have to go to the box stores like Starbucks for a morning coffee. I’d be great to be able to grab a coffee beverage before work from here, but the late start time makes it hard to support. A recommendation is to please maybe offer the coffee counter at 730 for the commuter folks.
