So it was my first time in Savannah, and my friend who lives there who has done this tour twice before told me we should do it. I love this kind of thing so we agreed. It was close to $90 and we booked online for a 7-8:15pm hearse tour. The online booking was fine, and the pickup experience was fine as well. The seats on the hearse we were on could be updated as they were unstable and loose and anytime the driver braked hard or turned fast you were moving. Our guide was a red head from New Jersey (only pointing this out so hopefully the business can work on his personal growth and improvement), he was nice but he really needs some improvement. First, the tour only lasted from 6:50-7:30 (we started 10 early), so we didnt even last the entire time we paid for (75 minutes). This was because he was driving fairly fast. He also just did not describe well what we were supposed to see, and sometimes he got the facts just completely wrong. For example, he said "they got in a fight and well he died and now he haunts the place," he literally said that Frances Sorrel improved surgery from 40-80% because he was innovative but failed to mention he was innovative because he practiced on his slaves. He said that children below the age of 16 can't stay at the Hamilton-Turner Inn (its children under 10 not 16). I felt like he was having a hard time multi-tasking driving and telling a good story, which I understand can be difficult but is also the whole experience. As someone who has never been to Savannah before, my friend had to walk me around the squares and downtown area AFTER the 40 minute hearse tour to tell me the history of the city. I would not book again, my local friend was embarrassed, and quite frankly I would never recommend this experience to anyone, even though I believe it was a tour guide issue because my friend had 2 good experiences prior with...

Our guide greeted us exactly on time. You have the option of several pick-up locations. We chose the one near Oglethorpe Square and it was extremely easy to find. On arrival, the guide took a group photo and we boarded the hearse.
The seating arrangement is odd, with the first of 4 rows facing out the side “windows” and the remaining facing forward. The 2nd row folks had to straddle the 1st row seat in front of them. Thankfully I was sitting across my spouse, but this could be very awkward for strangers.
The seat I sat in was bolted down but very loose - it felt as if it could break completely free from the mounting platform at any moment. The seat also had water pooled in it - a chilly surprise in the dark.
2 in our group are 6’6” and there was no comfortable position for them. The front row seats left them bumping their heads on the roof, and all seats had far less leg room than an average airplane seat. Our 6’0” group member was cramped but relatively comfortable in the way of leg room.
All of those things might have been overlooked, had the story-telling been more engaging. The tales were certainly interesting, but the delivery fell flat, sounding more like a news anchor trudging through the morning news.
Maybe we caught our guide on an off-night, in a run-down hearse, but this is one tour I regret having booked. Our experience was nothing like the reviews...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of joining the Hease Haunted Tour led by Robin Graves, and it was a great experience! From the moment we met, Robin set the tone for the evening. He was not only fun and entertaining but also incredibly knowledgeable about the local ghost stories that make this tour special.
Robin's storytelling skills brought the eerie tales to life, and his enthusiasm was contagious. He shared fascinating insights and historical context that made each story even more captivating.
If you're looking for a tour that's equal parts spooky and informative, I highly recommend booking with Robin Graves. His passion for the subject and ability to connect with the group made for a fantastic night filled with chills and thrills. He checks on the group often to make sure everyone is still alive. Don’t miss out on this haunting adventure!
Also, he had some real life apparitions on his phone to show us some incredible pictures of hauntings—definitely a unique touch that added to the...
