In the beginning I really loved working with Urban Poppy for our small destination wedding in Savannah. Jessi was so easy to talk to and was really attentive to all of my requests. I chose to have them as our florist as they were the only ones to really help visually give the closest representation of what each floral would be. Being a visual person myself I really appreciated this aspect that they offered uniquely to their clients. Throughout the process Jessi was very helpful and gave good advice to what would work with what I wanted and what they recommended for the season and my budget. It wasn't until closer to my wedding where I got concerned. Jessi unfortunately left her position and the owner took over and had me review every detail over again in the contract. A month before your wedding when you've already gone back and forth on what you wanted this can become a bit frustrating. I informed her that my wedding planner was the best to speak with as they were communicating with all my vendors at this point and helped relieve some of the stress from me, the bride. During our conversation certain comments about my budget and the sizes of the florals had me a little upset as it made it sound like I wouldn't get that much for what I paid for when we actually put over $600 more towards our total than originally planned. The owner listened to my concerns and said she would make a few changes to help everything look to size and what I was hoping for. These changes were not a few as I noticed a lot of the flowers were changed to ones that weren't even in my contract. I specifically said I didn't want any traditional roses in any of my florals either and they were added in numerous bouquets including mine. I also really wanted certain flowers that were in my contract that were taken out completely. Our flower girl's crown looked huge and not like the inspiration photo in our contract. In the end I wasn't happy with how the flowers turned out though they were beautiful, they weren't what we paid for or asked for in numerous...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreItās been a year since I got married at the Kehoe House in Savanah, and I still have and cherish the beautiful King Protea bouquet made by Urban Poppy. My flowers were one of my favorite things at my small ceremony. They exceeded my expectations...the bouquet and boutonniĆØre were so beautiful that they literally drew gasps from myself and my bridesmaids when they were delivered. I cannot speak highly enough of this florist. More importantly, though, was their customer care. The day before we were supposed to drive from Florida to get married, Hurricane Matthew rolled in and was bearing down directly on the city of Savannah. The people at the wedding venue told us that, basically, we should cancel everything. I was heartbroken and in tears. I called Urban Poppy to speak with them about cancelling, and the person I talked to (I donāt remember her name) was so calm and kind and comforting that I got off the phone feeling as if an enormous weight was lifted. She took the time to listen to me freaking out, then reassured me that she was still busily preparing for other weddings scheduled for the same day as mine. She even took the time to keep me on the phone as she watched the local news to update me about potential forced evacuations. I went from cancelling the entire thing to leaving out plans in place and heading for Savannah as scheduled. Iām so glad she changed my mind! The wedding took place the next day, although it had to be moved up by 3 hours (the minister lived on Tybee and had to evacuate). The earlier ceremony time didnāt impact my flowers at all...they arrived in perfect time, just as I was getting dressed. They truly made my day perfect, despite a huge hurricane and lots of rearranging. I would, without hesitation, recommend this florist to anyone looking to get married/have an event in the greater Savannah area. Beautiful work, beautiful flowers, and superb service. An unqualified 5 star rating from this extremely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a marvelous experience with Urban Poppy. The people here are helpful, communicative, and kind.
I first called and explained I was buying flowers for a date. I knew I had time constraints between work and the date location. Also, Iām from out of town so trying to pick up flowers a day early could be problematic because I didnāt have anywhere to store them.
I discussed the options with the woman who took the order and said Iād pick them up the night of my date before closing.
I asked when Iād need to let them know if I changed my mind and wanted to pick them up the night before, and she let me know Iād need to call Tuesday if I wanted to pick up Wednesday instead of Thursday.
I thought that was it.
On Tuesday, I received a text message. They obviously noted Iād been considering picking up Wednesday and rather than just do the easy thing - have them ready for Thursday as planned - they sent me a text message asking if Iād changed my mind in the day as a reminder Iād need to decide that day.
Thatās just amazing service. Truly amazing.
When I went to pick up the flowers in my rental car, they even offered to walk the flowers out to the turnaround by the Marriott for me to make it easy.
The flowers were great too. My date got lots of compliments.
Absolutely adore the people here and the level of service. So much care and attention to detail.
Thank you, Urban Poppy!...
